OK....o_O Not sure what you are getting at, although you make an accurate observation. We aren't talking about a concert stage, amphitheater or an open space.

In an enclosed space like a movie theater, your media room w/ surround sound or in this case; inside the cab, having all the speaker in front kind of defeats the purpose of enjoying the "spatial" element of an "immersive" listening experience.

    But, that's just me.

Agree. It doesn't get better than decent two channel audio, or 2.1, for recreating music in an ideal listening space. But automobiles are not ideal listening spaces. Most car audio systems are modified two channel systems, with multiple speakers per channel designed to compensate for the terrible acoustics of the space. I find it amusing when somebody claims that a home theater AV system with 5.2, 7.2, 9.2 channels or whatever, sounds better for music than 2 channel. If you need more than 2 channels for music, or 2.1 if you like bass, your listening space is not ideal.

Home theater systems are great for making you feel like you're in the middle of a battlefield during a movie, not so great for listening to music. But that's a different thing than car audio, so I'll stop going there.

By just doing that mod; is there a noticeable difference?

Subaru tweeters alone are a big sound upgrade. $90 on Amazon, plug and play, less than 30 minute DIY install. Lots of threads this. Best bang for the buck.

In my opinion, there is a slight difference. As stock, they are trash at best but listenable only at high volume levels. With the Subaru tweeters mod, they are much more less frustrating to listen to. I feel like other people's opinions in this forum seem to exaggerate how good they are and therefore, get you overhyped for the product.

Up to you whether you think it is worth the hundred or so dollars. I paid $155 CAD. I'm not sure whether I think it was worth it or not but I can say that I'm leaning towards purchasing the Kicker door speakers.

I had a hard time believing just the tweeters would make a big difference so I got the door speakers as well, I thought all combined it made a big difference. Before I'd listen to music in the high 20s for volume, now I'm fine with it in the teens and it sounds better too.

I went and cast my vote.

I chose the passenger side because I didn’t want a prostate massage every time I listened to rap and hip hop. I didn’t even look at the driver’s side, so I couldn’t tell you whether or not there’s more room over there. I’ve been happy with the location but in hindsight, I wouldn’t mind having it under the driver’s seat because it’s really not going to be rattling any bolts loose or anything. I’d take a look and just go with whichever side can clear the sub more easily. Also, driver’s side will allow for more easy routing of the wiring, IMO. Good luck with the install! I recently installed my hideaway so PM me for any specific questions for issues you run into.

Yes, because you don't actually have any tweeters.

Yeah, I was stuck on that too. 7 hours each way?!?!...you probably are working a full 8 hours (?)...that adds up to a 22 hour day on the road and at your job. I.E... 2 hours of sleep every day.

The tweeters are a good upgrade, but finding a place about 6 hours closer to your job might be a better upgrade. The stock speakers are not good, and that has been detailed in quite a few posts & threads on this site. Tweeter upgrade is quick and easy and under $100. You can do the rest of them (which I have not done yet...satisfied with the tweeters for now) and be out another $150. Maybe OP chooses the music he chooses because he likes it? I haven't heard of those styles, but I am a classic rock fan, and don't drive 7 hours each way to my job...

My guess is that he works remotely most of the time and when he has to go to the office he stays for multiple days or weeks. Only reasonable explanation I could think of lol.

For the rest of the speakers, do we have plug and play upgrade options like the tweeters?

Im thinking of this upgrade and keep seeing good reviews but the stock system is already so high /bright sounding from the vocals I would assume this only enhances that part...

And that is the last thing I want. Lol. Especially after upgrading door speakers and no amp yet, im turning my treb and mid down past half

It really does not add any highs, it basically just cleans the sound up and you dont have to have the volume as high for the same amount of sound.

Personal preference varies of course but generally front stage, rear fill is pretty much the accepted standard for a reason, in autos or otherwise.

Even in home theatre where you might be surrounded by full range drivers the signal sent to the surrounds isn't the same as the front stage.

And I agree, six tweeters in a vehicle is major overkill.

I'm waiting on pieces to come in but I'll be running separates up front, tweeters on axis with the mids and mid-bass drivers in the rear doors, sub behind the back seat.
