Does anyone know if stock 17' sport wheels will work on a 1st generation Toyota Pre-runner? Thanks--don't have time to do a search this morning, got to get to work.

I believe it depends on how wide they are. I know most are 17x9 - which simply, is too wide.

The TRD sport rims are 17x7.5".

And why is a 9" rim "simply too wide"?

Yes they fit, but the problem is you cant run a wide tire becuase it will rub on the Upper arm.

Will a 265/65/17 work, or is that too wide?

That might rub, thats the size i wanted to run but i asked around and heard it will rub, 255/75/17 is the biggest, since the wheels have 5.5 back space 12+ offset,
but then agian they dont make much tires in that size, you can run 265 with wheel spacers 1" at the minimum

Thanks, Anthony. I've got a friend that wants to buy my sport wheels with the stock Bridgestones and we're trying to figure out if they'll work.

TRD sport wheels have +32mm offset, not +12.

    +32 is 5.5" backspacing on a 7.5" wide wheel.
