So did the 1" spacer alleviate the rub offroad?

My thought process is though, as long as it doesn't rub on the uca or body mount I'll be good. I have no problem heat forming or trimming. And I plan to get a level anyway.

Yes, the inch spacer eliminated all of the rubbing. The tires never did rub on the cab mount, just the plastic on the rear part of the front fender flare. Now, I get no rubbing and the tires sit flush with the edge the flare giving it a nice stance.truck1.jpg

Sorry but just to be clear, this pic is with no lift. Only 1 inch spacer. Correct?

Yes, as it sits, there is a one inch spacer in the front and a 1 inch block in the rear.

Sorry but I am not sure what you mean here by spacer. Are you running a wheel spacer or did you add a spacer lift to the front coils (of both?)? If you did add just the spacer coil lift could you share which exact manufacturer and part. I greatly appreciate the information. I too am interested in running some 255/85/16 tires on my 3rd gen trd/OR and am trying to get some insight into the requirements. I really don't want to add much lift due to the loss of down travel.

fwiw I posted many months back about running this exact size tire (255/85/16 on oem wheels) and had several replies that it would require minimum 3 inches of lift and possibly a CMC.

    Many thanks

I have wheel spacers installed along with 1 inch coil spacers up front and 1 inch blocks in the rear. I will have to look for the manufacturer, but the coil spacers were exactly 1 inch thick which nets approximately 1.5 to 1.75 inches of lift in the front. This combo is working well until I get the coilovers I want.

Many thanks for the clarification. Your truck looks excellent with the setup. Last question were the wheel spacers required for any specific reason with your setup other than just cosmetics? As mentioned I too have same setup in mind that you have (running same stock wheels) but really did not want to run wheel spacers.

    Thank you again

Dick cepek tires were on backorder for 8 weeks. Four wheel parts gave me 4 bfg km2 for the same price.

I didn't think the Discoverer ST's were being made any more? That's awesome! I ran many MANY sets of those on my Nissan and LOVE those tires. I've got a stock 16' OR DCSB. I may try and fit this size on my stock truck........

The wheel spacers made it rub worse. I only installed them to improve the looks.

@matt3liv Update on these tires from the OP (or anyone else running these tires)? Any rubbing? Any offroading with rubbing? How does the truck drive with these tires? Love it/hate it/still deciding? I'd also love to hear how these tires handle in the snow both packed, loose, and icy. Thanks!
