Yeah, might go with the OP tires, Discoverer S/T. Need a good daily driver that can still be good off-road. The S/T seems to be the choice. They also seem more aggressive than the AST3's as well.

Please let us know how the wheeling goes tomorrow!

Well one other thing. I was 1.5 mpg lower on my commute into work today with more people to deal with. I work stupid hours and on my way home around 745 and no other cars I was .8 mpg lower than I normally get. For 10lbs more a tire, I'm happy with that.

Anyone know how the stock suspension on the pro compares to the normal TRD OR4x4? I have a standard TRD currently, and OP's truck is my goal look wise.

    Conjecture from me but...

The pro sits approx. 1" higher than the TRDOR. However the pro has wheel spacing that sets each wheel 1/2" further out. So while the pro sits higher the OEM pro wheels may cause slightly more rub than the TRDOR wheels. Another thing to keep in mind is different mfg tire sizes will slightly vary. The OP has cooper tires that appear to measure exactly as advertised 33" (bearing no weight load) while coopers own site says the tire is 32.8 (possible measured on vehicle aired way up), BFG wise my experience is they tend to run quite true to size also in diameter, width wise not sure about but to me they tend to look a little more narrow but this is likely just the tread pattern playing visual games. Either way I am very interested to see how Sandytaco14 fairs with his stock TRDOR in the off road setting. Also some more pics would be a nice bonus;)

I rubbed twice all day. Once entering a parking lot that had a v shaped drain and I was going fast into it. Second was when I went too fast throuhg the trail and hit a bump too hard. I really think both of those rubs were from tire deflection. I may be mistaken though. When I was crawling i turned my tires atleast 80% at one time going over mogul and moderate rocks, never once rubbed. I flexed out all the way intentionally another time and didn't feel any rub what so ever. I've never had a true set of mud tires. And these things walked through water and mud up to my diff. I'm a happy camper and To say I have a chub is putting it lightly.

    Pic dump to come.

Sweet I like the looks. How bad did it mess with the tranny shifting?

No issues really. It kind makes it hold gears a better duration of time instead of upshifting prematurely.

Super minor rubbing even with your mud flaps? Well then... this thread has officially sold me on a tire size. I'm a big fan of the KO2's however they're not made in this size. As bad ass as the KM2's are, the snow in Colorado doesn't play nicely with them for everyday driving. Looks like Cooper has themselves a new customer!

I know. I really really expected to have a decent amount of rubbing today. So I get to keep my front mud flaps, and a awesome set of tires that gives me an 1" better ground clearance.

I've read this (TRD overall height 1in more than the rest of the line-up), but were is the extra inch coming from? Certainly the front struts are set to be taller, but the Pro has the same rear leafs as the rest of the line, correct? If true, then the front Pro struts provide how much additianl lift at the wheel to accomplish a total overall lift of 1in? I'm too lazy to do the math, anyone have the answer?

Hey there. Toyota has stated that the Pro has a 1" lift up front only. The rear stays the same. The specs also mention the clearance is virtually the same as I assume the 1" up front makes for a VERY small difference of total clearance at the middle of the truck. The Pro also has a slightly wider stance (I believe they achieve this with the TRD Pro wheels having more/less (can't remember which way it goes) back spacing).

It was my understanding the pro is ~1" higher than the rest, the trd/sr/sr5's are the same height?

Correct. But again, only 1" higher in the front. The rear stays the same.
