    On a softopper you're able to put 2 locks to secure it. They can always break them but it will make it a lot harder.

    Had my lightbar stolen the same night out here in Ventura. Talked with PD and they said it's been going on for the past couple weeks now. How did it go with claiming through insurance? Never filed a claim like this and just curious if there is an out of pocket or what the process is.. Sorry about your topper buddy!

    yep. I had my rims and tires stolen from my bed and tires to get auto insurance to cover it. since it wasn't part of the truck they could not cover it. Of course i did not have renters insurance at the time.

    Also most insurance companies I have used will consider anything bolted, screwed or mounted to the truck to be part of the truck. EX-subs behind the seat are personal property, subs bolted to the floor behind the seat are now part of the truck because disassembly is required to remove it. Just my past experience, but you have to tell them that the item was "removed" from your truck not just taken from it.
