I know some of you guys ride, perhaps you can keep an eye out for my now former bicycle. Kinda heartbroken at the moment. :(

I know it's a long shot but I just had my brand new 2016 Yeti SB5 Enduro stolen off of the back of my truck in the work parking lot here in Lakewood 6/30/16 @ 1:25 pm. Only 6 rides on it, the two of us were just becoming acquainted. It's the first new bike I've been able to afford in a decade so this especially hurts.

Black in color. E.13 TRS front tire, Specialized Slaughter rear. Race face sixc handlebar with a Thomson elite stem. XT pedals but stock otherwise.

Rewards will be furnished to the person who goes elbow (both) deep in the thieves asshole then unravels their colon and lynches them with the entrails.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Keep a close eye on pawn shops (hope you reported it stolen) and craigslist.

F'in hate thieves! Hope you got renter's or home owner's insurance. I had one bike stolen out of an apartment and another fall off my old Jeep and someone picked it up off the side of the freeway before I could get to the next off ramp and circle around to grab it. Both times it worked out good because of the insurance.

Was it locked? How long was it sitting in the back of your truck?

Thanks fellas. My homeowner's insurance will compensate for some of the loss however my deductible is $2K, so either way I'm gonna be getting it dry unless someone takes pity on me.

It was locked on a Thule T2 bike rack using the integrated lock. It looks like they just forced the thing open, I'm not sure if the lock jumped a few notches but they were able to get it off. I came back from lunch at shortly after 1pm and my buddy just happened to be standing outside when the dude rolled by @ 1:25pm ish. It didn't register with him immediately but he ran up to my truck and called me shortly thereafter. We canvased the area for an hour or so after the fact but no signs of the guy.

Security at work was pulling video footage from the cameras as there were probably 3 or 4 along his way through the facility. They said they will provide the shots to the police but the Lakewood Police department website is very clear that filing a report for theft is for insurance purposes only and will not result in additional investigation.

At this point I have more or less accepted that it is gone forever. I'm going to keep checking Craigslist and any sites I can think of but sadly I think I'm SOL on this one.

Would it be possible to get screen shots from the video camera, maybe enhance it and try to go viral with it, to every possible news outlet? Hope they got his license plate or a clear head shot driving. I hope they find your bike with the thief who stole it too.

That's such a sweet bike! So sorry to hear bro. I'm in the same boat as you, except I STILL can't afford it.. Its too bad they don't have anything you could purchase that has a chip so you could find it like if your dog ran away.

Do they make anything like lo-jack for bicycles or motorcycles or are they only for cars?

I know its a long shot but does Thule have some type of guarantee on their product. Perhaps they'll compensate you some or all of the value being that their product didn't do what it was intended to do.

I'm not sure but they should and if they don't there's a million dollar idea!

I doubt that, unless his product was defective in the design or manufacture.
