Yesterday, I had my '16 TRD parked at an angle and noticed a chain hanging from under the bed. I got down to inspect, and discovered that my spare tire is gone. I live in Denver and park on the street. First, how common is spare tire theft?
Next, as I look for a replacement, I see people marking rims based by generation. Will all 16" Toyota truck rims fit, or are there different offsets for the various model years?
Feel free to just rail about thieves.

    Thanks

Vehicle theft is as common as sunshine. A couple years back I walked out to someone trying to jimmy my bed toolbox open in my driveway when I went to get my smokes out. Asked if he needed help with it.

I couldn't agree more! It's nice to be able not worry about locking doors to the house and vehicles.

Any 16" spare from a 2005+ with a 265/70-16 tire should fit fine.

Sorry to hear about your trouble, OP. However, check out this 5 year old article about spare tire theft in Denver. Apparently it’s a thing out there.

That’s a bummer for sure! I guess I’ll have to lock my spare.

Spare from Ebay arrived last night, but I think it's an older tire - and I specifically paid for a '16 spare. Anyone with a '16 mind climbing under and letting me know the make/model/size of their spare?

    Thanks

It used to. The neighborhood has taken a major upswing over the past ten years. BUT there are still a lot of shady characters who still drive through.

A few mods here and there and counting....
Several years back, i noticed a clunking noise as i was driving. Once i got to my destination, my spare tire was hanging. Someone attempted to steal it sometime before that day but luckily i had a cable lock on there.
