    Hey everyone,

First of all I don't own a tacoma so I don't think my thread is adequate here but some of you know allready know me by my line of work ( http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/39029-devil-horns-update.html) and last night I just happen to run into a bad experience. I drive (or should I say "used to drive") a black 1984 Toyota 4runner 4X4 long bed. I had a 6" lift, offroad tires, one year old bucket seats, 10" kicker sub, LED's all around and I replaced the 22R engine 12,000 miles ago. Yesterday I worked from 5:00AM to 11:30AM and got to college at 12:00. I did my last homework and studied my A$$ off until 5:30. I went to my class at 6:00 and took my physics final. I got out at 8:00 and I'm on the phone with my girl and as I'm walking I notice my truck is gone, someone else's car is parked in the same parking where I left my truck. At first I taught I forgot where I parked, but after a few minutes it was ovbious what happened. :( I called the college police department and they toured me to see if maybe I would see it somewhere else. They took a police report afterwards and my girlfriend picked me up. I never had a car or truck stolen before and it's not a good experience at all! I've been having bad luck lately with other stuff but this completely tops it off. Sad to say this but my friends and I were planning a trip to Miller Jeep Trail, I guess that won't happen anymore. My truck might be slow on the freeway but it crawls like a champ on the trails. Just sharing my experience.

I got my last car stolen on Charismas day!! Best thing that ever happed to me, I took the insurance money and bought my Taco. By the way they found the car less then a week later and it was cleaner then when they stole it

Apparently they took it and cleaned it then drove it around for a few days. They even hanged a toy on the rear view mirror.

you might try checking out some local trails to see if they decided to offroad it and then they ditched it when they got stuck.

yeah my 85 SR5 EFI truck got stolen from my work parking lot about 4 years ago, never saw it again :( I loved that damn truck, thats what made me want to get a Taco, but nothing can really replace that old SR5. Everytime I watch back to the future it makes me sad when they show that black SR5

That just sucks. Did I see Compton?? That’s a rough place.. I got lost there once and was freaked out.. but I’m a skinny white kid in a (then) brand new bright ass red truck.. so.. yah..

My dad is a cop and was putting together a sting op for a body shop once. The body shop was doing fraud stuff by fixing cars and charging the insurance company for more work than what the accident had occurred. So they put hidden cameras on a car and then proceeded to back it into a pole a bunch. They then parked the newly wrecked up car in the POLICE PARKING LOT and left it overnight. They were gonna take it in the following morning, but it was stolen that night!! Well a few days later they found it, and of course had video of the guys stealing the car (cause of the hidden cameras!) and the best part – the guys who stole it FIXED THE DAMAGE! So of course, they just re-wrecked the car and did the sting..

Moral of the story – sometimes things may work out even though

Sorry for your loss.. that truck sounded bad ass!

people steal older cars cause they’re obviously easier to steal and not worth as much, so cops don’t bother looking as hard and the parts are more valuable.
