you know, i was looking at my truck and said to myself, "self, i need more storage, now besides a tool box, where else can i create more storage?" now looking on the inside of my truck (2007, 4.0L, access cab), nothing really there besides under the seats. so then i was thinking how about the bed, but i really didnt want to take up much space. so then it hit me, what about UNDER the bed. has anyone ever seen the storage capabilities that could possible exist under the bed. Although anything under the bed would have to be mounted and waterproof, i think there could be great aspiration from this area. what do you all think........? or am i just reaching for something that isnt there?

    wat?
i'm sure something could be fabricated in the area where the tire is...then have a flip up door like a ridgeline....might not be soo bad. just make sure that trap door is waterproofed.

I built a show truck that had a plexiglass enclosure that would motorize out from underneath the truck. It housed tools, spare parts, etc. I wouldn't do it again though. The underside of most trucks take a beating, and get pretty wet.

What do you need to store? Use the bed. Get a shell or tonneau.

what is a shell? yea i like the tonneau's but i just graduated college and i am going to be moving here shortly to a semi permanent location until i start grad school, then i will be moving to wherever i have gradschool, and if i bought a tonneau, it would hinder me from using the entire bed. i have a tool box with all my tools i need if something were to happen to my truck while driving. that is just sitting behind the driver side seat on the floor. also i want to start carring tie downs, towing straps.....and a whole bunch of other stuff i probably wont need but it would be cool to have. and the storage under the back seats is just not cutting it especially since the jack takes up the entire passenger side storage. so i am just looking for room or something.
