Save your money and stay far away from this company. They were mentioned in the FT86 forum...one member bought the kit and they had zero support. He went to STS for tune and they told him there was no tune...you tune it yourself...so he was stuck. Second issue...why in the world would you want a rear mounted turbo.... even if this is a truck that's higher than most cars...what happens when it rains or floods and the truck drives over water? Former colleague of mine had a MINI cooper that had supercharger and the air intake was low...so he wasted his engine driving in a lowly flooded area...it gulped in water and engine was damaged. I asked STS this question about their rear mounted turbo and they never responded.

Folks here in this forum talk about snorkel and here you are looking at a rear mounted turbo to inhale water? I can see why they went out of business.

You seem really fixated on this STS kit even though TORSPD has told you it's crap. Why don't you go with URD supercharger if you want FI? With all the issues with the STS design and their support has been suspect....why even continue to consider using them in your truck?

Torspd, thanks for that great post with pics of your build with the STS turbo. Sorry for all your pain and endless fixing. You and others have helped me immensely to decide NOT to waste my $5k on that kit and instead go for a $69.99 Performance Chip Now chip which promises up to a +30 hp gain and +28 ft lbs of torque. If that works, that's about all I'm really looking for. I'll spend the $ for other cosmetic stuff including a show quality paint job.

key words 'up to' usually means zero for our engines. There is a reason you can only do so much with headers and exhaust that will probably yield 15 hp gain at the most. Our v6 engines are engineered real well. I'm not sure why you would think a 60 dollars device will yield you huge gains.

What is the name of this "chip" that you are referring to?

Just don't. It won't work and its not a "chip" its a resistor that costs $1.50 for you to make yourself.

"Oh by the way...the other one I got from you for my 2006 Tacoma 4 cyc. works flawlessly. I just returned off a trip and was getting 25.7 MPG, that's an increase of 6.2 MPG, and it's a blast to drive, it won't take long to payout @ $4.00 a gallon. Thanks in advance and I'm looking forward to like results from my Jeep. A very satisfied customer..."

That's pretty incredible testimony. I wonder why Toyota is so dumb not to buy out this company and save so much more of their development dollars to get their products to meet CAFE? Hopefully this will convince Toyota to make a regular cab of the Gen3 Tacos. // Sarcasm

I'm not sure how companies make all these unsubstantiated claims for up to 30HP?

04jakop are you serious with these your post? If you are...why don't you look up URD to ozboost? Ozboost is untested here, but would be cool if you get their turbo kit from them and report back. Just weird you post from a $5K product to now a $69 product to increase your HP gains

Ok. I read all the bad press about GForce performance chips. I took it off and installed the PCN chip I ordered. Turns out the GForce chip didn't need to be "cracked" open because there are 4screws holding it together. I took the above pics of what was inside. I'm not an electronics expert by any means, but I do know that this is more than a resistor which everyone was sure was inside. I'd like someone who is knowledgeable in electronics to study these pics and tell me what you think this circuit board is supposed to do.

It's supposed to take your money. It's a cheap double sided PCB cost about $2.50 to make at most. Doesn't seem to do anything..you got hot and ground to power the transceiver but what is it supposed to buffer? I'm not sure if you listen to the suggestions made before that you're getting ripped off with these products. It's almost to the point of being laughable... sorry to say.

Just google 74AC245 as labeled in the picture and get a fairchild datasheet or equivalent manufacturer's datasheet to show you it's just bidirectional buffer. No extra logic or intelligence to make more HP.

If you can and do yourself a favor and return the other chip as well... I can't believe people don't get arrested for this kind of scam.

You have an ohm meter? Measure the resistance from the red lead to black lead. I bet it just offering resistance across the leads.

    Not sure if troll.

You'd have more luck hooking a potato chip up than a "performance chip."
