Okay, I've searched thru the forum & only found the jokes about stuck dipsticks. I cannot get the stick out of there, twisting, pulling, whatever, it won't pull free. I gave it as much effort as possible without pulling the handle off. Anybody else have this happen and even more importantly, if you did, what was the fix? Thanks

Ok, I hope this doesn't come across as me insulting your intelligence, but are you sure you're pulling on the dipstick? Post a pic of it.

Happened to someone else. Dealership got it free, IIRC.

Who put it in last? If you, was it hard to put in? Short of cutting the top off and opening the oil pan and pulling in the opposite direction from the bottom, it may need some mechanical assistance to pull up, but I would let the dealer do it as you might break it off or something else deeper in the channel.

Mine did the same, I was able to work it loose by twisting it back and forth. The o-ring was shredded afterwards. Now I use o-ring grease on it at every oil change.

I know its thick metal, but you know what happens to metal when you twist or bend it a lot. I wonder if theres a slight bend in the channel? If so, there’s a sweet spot that the stick has to bend to go back in and if the stick is sideways to it it cant make the bend easily and will twist to do it. Try to keep the stick oriented the same way when you find the best spot whenever its put in.

It was the dealership on my last free lof, hopefully they checked anyways

I'll twist it a little more & see if I can get it free, and use o-ring grease on it if it frees up
Crazy, are they afraid it's going to leak or what?

    LMAO!
Got the dang thing free finally, put a socket extension thru the handle so I could get better leverage, pulled & twisted, about fell backwards when it finally let loose. Thanks @Loco38SUP, used o-ring grease on it.
    P. S. Oil level was OK. :)

Happened on my 09, I traded it before it got fixed. But it was to the dealership that did all my oil changes and they knew it was stuck, but were going to charge me to fix it. They told me about it the last 3 oil changes.

Omg, mine is so stuck in there. Sprayed it and used extension, and still stuck.
Going to let it sit a bit see if grease loosens it up.

Work a flathead screw driver under the bottom lip of the dipstick handle and the tube and pry it up. And order a new dip stick.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
One of the best tips I got from this forum is filing the sharp edges on the tip down with 300 or 400 grit. Made putting it back in (giggidy) much easier. Make sure to give it a good rinse in brake cleaner after doing that to get the metal powder off.

When you pull it does the truck fart? if so, it may not be a dipstick.
