    Hey guys,

Tried doing an oil change and when my friend tried taking off the filter he tightened it instead of loosening it :( so now it’s stuck and nothing’s working. Can anyone in the area help me out?

Have a leather belt? Wrap it around the filter to give more grip.

You just need a filter wrench for a ratchet

Either try an oil filter wrench (if you arent already), a strap wrench that tightens its grip as you pull, or a belt as said above mimicks a strap wrench. Last resort can be hammering a screw driver through the side of the filter, and then using that to loosen it. Its mess as hell, and theres no going back, but it works pretty well as a sure last resort.

Tried all this. The screwdriver went thru but when I tried turning it, it just made the hole bigger and didn’t spin the filter at all.

Can you get a large channel locks on it near the block? Or large pipe wrench? Not sure of the layout on 2nd gen.

Well unless you can get a strap wrench on as high as you can with some good grip may have to give it help starting with chisel and hammer on the lip next to block?

Put s hole with the screw drive as close to the base as possible. It will open the hole some but worst case it rips in two and you can get it off with a strap

Lisle Import Filter wrench. Model 63600.

Local parts places usually have them.

Remind your friend that it's 'lefty loosey'.

If the engine is cool, driving a screwdriver through the filter creates no mess.

    How's this going?

edit: The strap wrench or possibly a vice grip seem like it may work. Use a rag or something over it.
