Wheel long enough and you will get stuck.

I have managed to get stuck many times in my years of hitting the trails.

Thought I'd share some pics. Maybe some of you can share your pics and stuck stories.

(I searched, but previous similar threads were too old, didn't really want to resurrect)

    Story 1:
I was in CO and prior to getting stuck, my left CV axle failed, so I was down to 2wheel drive. I was trying to just limp back to town, but had to cross this mud hole....

    20160617_151606.jpg

As you can see, I probably could have driven around it, but at that high Altitude you don't want to damage the plants... they take years to come back.

To get out, I hooked up the winch to the rear receiver hitch to the largest tree I could find to make a straight line. Got out no problem.

Do not by inferior winch if you plan on needing it:
    20150524_130002.jpg

.... and after 3 hours of digging snow, we finally saw another vehicle.

Something about the fact that this picture comes up next on the slideshow after the above always makes me laugh.

That looks like a pond more than it does a rut. People around here have ruined one of my local spots due to rutting. Basically a bunch 3/4 ton trucks with huge lifts and mud tires.

I'll give it one more bump. Surely there are more stuck pics out there.

I wasn't exactly "stuck" but I was in a precarious situation on the side of a giant sand dune in Pismo. Was cruising along the top of the dune and couldn't make out that there was a large drop off to my right (hard to tell in the sand sometimes), started sliding uncontrollably sideways down the slope and when I tried righting myself, it got worse...I just kept sliding sideways and didn't want to risk a rollover down the dune. Figured I'd rather be safe than sorry and @fishfinder came along with his trusty winch to come save my ass, lol. The photo doesn't really do it justice but it was a pretty steep slope on a rather large sand dune. The sand in Pismo is super soft and really deep in parts, it's really easy to get dug in. Learned toward the end of the trip that 8 psi was the magic number for avoiding it for the most part.
