Any attack involving one 3 meters (9 ft) or more is usually fatal. And they get 15-20 ft all day every day.

@Bell214b its almost like a white shark that is amphibious. It would be impossible for me to have recovered my F350 if there would have been crocs there haha

Now you understand why I was asking for help so quickly. Also didnt measure by walking in. And the fact that the recovery vehicle had no idea what they were doing, and I was taking on water.

Ok...Ill play....the only reason it didnt go 3-4 inches deeper is its resting on the center of ruts. I could put my foot under the tires, they werent even touching...20180610_154548.jpg 20180610_173826.jpg

Did your engine stall? Why didn't you put it in reverse and try to back up? Afraid of rolling?

No stall. Saw water coming into the cab, so I wanted to avoid @JWROSE4 situation. I did put it into reverse, but I was getting nowhere/going deeper into the water. Rolling wasnt on my mind.

Looking back, I could have put the locker on and tried reversing, but at the defense of more water coming in.. Just didnt want to risk it.

Did insurance ask questions? I've always wondered how something like this would go over

Mine went way deeper than that. water was over the bottom of the steering wheel, up on the a/c controls, it's running fine.
Let her drip dry and warranty replaced the throttle body, rolled on. I extended all vent lines to air box and have a snorkel though. I can tell you hit it hard cause of your license plate is creased upward from force of the water. Did you hydrolock engine?

I would buy it back if they total it. The water doesn’t look high enough to get to any of the ecu’s

They asked what was I doing and I told her ai was gonna be honest that I was offroading and going through a water crossing. They then reviewed my policy and asked if I was involved in a offroad race? I said no just recreational hobby and they said ok well if it was recreational your covered. Something about the way its worded in the policy.

Probably...I figure I will see an increase even tho this is the first claim I have had to claim since I started my own policy with them 15 years ago.

Engine is not locked...we pulled plugs and intake and motor was dry. It actually started until the fuel that was in the system burned out. The fuel pump wont kick on and the best we can tell the ECU isnt telling it too. I get several lights on the dash cluster while cranking it, lights that dont usually come on.

When I was being pulled out the drivers side came up out of the rut and the passenger side dipped. The water was over the passenger seat and halfway up the dash on the passenger side. I jumped popped the hood jumped out and unhooked the intake right before the filter so that it would stay above water as the stock location in the fender was at water level. When the water rose up the dash, that is when all the lights kicked on and it went into limp mode. Would accelerate when I hit the throttle, shortly after it cut off. Thats why we think its the ECU...but we could be wrong. Its at the dealership now so I guess they will figure it out.

I need to work on my multi quote skills
