I leave my wallet and a gun (and sometimes my checkbook) in my truck every night- mostly so I never leave my wallet at home.

I got a Console Vault and I keep my stuff in there- best mod I've done!

happened to me when i had the pathfinder. they stole my bike pump, my phone i was charging, gps, and parking change. I caught them running from my car when i went back out to get something from the car. In between when i parked it and returned was an hour so i suspect they were watching. Same thing happened to my mountain bike i lock with a u lock near my railings. They cut through my lock in between the hours of 4am-5am when i returned from the library for a nap. Than again i should have been more careful since it was a really nice bike. College towns suck ftw

I used too keep my wallet in my truck until the ONE night I forget to set the alarm someone goes in and take all my change and my wallet, but they leave my ipod, garmin, headphones and a craftsman drill untouched. I didn't even realize I got jacked untill 12 hours later when i went to get gas and noticed all my change was gone as.well as my wallet.
The weird thing is that the next day a neighbor down the street brings me some random cards from my wallet that she found in the street, then the following day my license appears in my mailbox
Theives used my credit.cards for. $100 in gas and thats it.

You are military, why don't you use USAA? I don't do auto-pay from the bill collectors; USAA bill pay sends a check from USAA directly to the debtor when you issue it online. You can set it up from USAA for auto or go in and do it yourself each month like me. I pay all my bills this way, I can even issue you a check if I wanted.

It is awesome if you don't mind the no local branches (except in San Antone and I think San Diego). Direct deposit and mobile deposit solves that though.

I use usaa for insurance and my truck loan. I dont have checking with them for the fact that I cant walk into a branch if I needed something. Wells fargo has the same bill pay feature though. I might start using it now.

if the window would have been busted out I think i would have just taken the day off work, got it fixed, then went to the shooting range to let out some frustration

Try not to feel so bad. A woman I used to work with had her car broken into 6 times in one year in our work parking lot. Why her car and not anyone elses? Because she ON PURPOSE will leave her car unlocked because "I don't want anyone breaking my window".

During the month of December during one of the break ins she lost a carton of cigarettes, her car stereo, stuff she bought her daughter for Christmas, a brand new still-in-the-bag Harley Davidson leather jacket and a bunch of other Christmas gifts she bought for her husband. This was all sitting her her back seat and passenger seat in full view.

All to save her window. And to top it off, she has a trunk.

Ouch, that sucks. They key to making a break in on your truck less likely. NOTHING of value visible! Even dumb shit, someone one might look in and say I want that!

Anyway, car insurance will cover it. Its better if you have receipts to show what you paid. But they will cover it.

I have pretty dark window tint and you cant even see in at night, even cupping your hands to try and look in.

I think that it was just some random kids walking down the street checking every car to see if they were unlocked and would just go in the ones unlocked..

Hah! You're telling me! This is the same woman that thought if the power goes out, you can't flush the toilet.

I'm hella serious. We had to explain that to her.

What feels worse, the fact someone rummaged through your truck, or living in a neighborhood where thieve go around every night pulling door handles and checking for unlocked cars?
