I put an avs lightshield bug deflector on my truck that has a little dinky led light bar built in. I am trying to power it using a fuse tap aka add-a-fuse to tap into the under the hood fuse box. I have located what i believe to the fuse for the right headlight/high beam and plugged into that and then grounded the black wire to a bolt but still have zero power to the light bar. I also tried a few other fuses and just getting nothing. Has anyone done anything similar to what I’m trying to do that could offer some advice?

That crimp job looks right terrible id start there.

To add to that did you try just wiring it direct to see if it even works?

Does the fuse tap sit all the way into the fuse holder? They often aren’t deep enough

Where is the ground connected. Touch the wire to the battery and it should light. If not it’s either the red wire or you are missing a ground.

Just asking, if you tap into the high beam and you want the light to turn on the bug deflector you have to turn on the high beam. Did you turn the high beam switch on because in the picture the low beam is not on so the high beam won’t turn on.

What's your ground wire connected to? Can you ground to the drivers front fender bolt in the engine bay? What's the amperage requirement for the small light bar? You'll need to know the correct amperage requirement to pick the appropriately rated fuse slot.

The fuse panel under the dash is easier. Try the 5A panel or 10A ignition fuses. 23:14 mark in video for reference.
