Hopefully they deliver. My local dealership gave me that line also. They have not delivered. Stay firm. The dealership is not your friend. They are a business.

Yeah same shit my dealer and regional FTS said about the howling rear diff. They agree it's not normal and claim they're working on a fix. Going on 8 months now....

My flaring transmission, that jumps up over 1000 RPMs, going into 4th gear, was declared a normal characteristic of the transmission by both Toyota corporate and Southeast Toyota. Seems ethical to me.

How can this company solve problems if they can't admit the obvious?

    They are con artists.

Ally other issues aside, THIS is a safety issue. Leaking diff? safety issue so they recall to fix. They just don't know whats wrong yet...
Safety issue MUST be dealt with. All my conversations with corp. I've emphasized how many close calls we've had. We shall see...

IF anything happens i have plenty to hold Toyota accountable for.

AAAYYYYYYY!!! Mine has this going into 2nd gear one of the other great features I sometimes forget about. Doesn't happen often enough to recreate it for the dealer so they tell me it's probably just the truck downshifting and I have nothing to worry about...

I'm dealing with SE Toyota as well. They tried to charge 900 bucks for pin striping on our Tundra while there was no charge for it on the Tacoma these were bought about a month apart, fun stuff.

Sounds like many different issues being discussed at the same time here.

The original post still sounds like traction control over reacting or turning on when it shouldn't.

There is probably something wrong with your truck, but also flooring it from a stop is not necessary to take off at maximum speed. You don't need to be past the amount that makes the car accelerate it's fastest. There is term for it I can't recall. It's a technique that matters a lot more when you have more horsepower and no traction control. Also important in rain or hitting unexpected gravel coming out of a corner.

It's not traction control man. I know what that feels like. And I should be able to floor it as much as want with out any issues.

on mine i have tried disabling traction control, and it does the same thing reguardless. I also can replicate it in 4hi, no way its losing traction in 4x4 on dry pavment.

I kind of feel bad for my Toyota after reading this:

    http://www.drj.com/images/conferences/orl2011/sessions-materials/GS-4 Chandler Dr Bob .pdf

I remember GM having some dealings with deceiving people as well.

    https://mobile.nytimes.com/1999/07/10/us/4.9-billion-jury-verdict-in-gm-fuel-tank-case.html

The reality is simple, for auto manufacturers,
Profits > customer safety and/or concerns

Driving home from work today I was going about twenty miles an hour, and just for the heck of it I threw it in neutral for a sec while moving, reved it, then put it back in drive. Next complete stop it stopped doing it and did not do it again on my drive home. The two probably have nothing to do with each other but just thought I would share it stopped and maybe it's some kind of cheat code like the old Contra video game.

I am sure in that case GM had its engineers say there was no problem all along the way too.

So after taking my Tacoma in to Toyota after Corp. requested it for "diagnostics" AGAIN I got a call yesterday. It was Toyota service dept. asking to bring it in again... They asked for it to remove and inspect the crankshaft position sensor.. Im fully aware of the CPS problem with these trucks and asked him if my truck falls under the recall, he says "what recall"... sigh.

SO not sure if those who have had the CPS replaced this fixes the problem? ANOTHER day at the dealership..

I have an app this weekend to get this checked out. I'll keep you all posted. In the mean time I posted a video of what it's doing. How is it compared to yours?

Damn, out of all the Toyota's I have owned, none of them have ever done that. Good luck getting that issue fixed OP.
