I found it worked good enough for me. If the song had too much bass I can just hit a couple of buttons and turn it down. I never changed the amps settings after I had it set to what I want.

I got a remote knob becasue my head unit takes too many damned button presses to get the sub level right. I swear it takes a good 30-45 seconds of the song to set it right. I have a Kenwood though and its not the best user interface in the world. A knob takes all of 2-3 seconds.

With my alpine I have to hit 2 buttons and then change the level of sub to what I want. I find it really easy but then again I have heard that the kenwoods user interface is pretty complicated.

I run the Alpine CD-117 head unit, and it has the same feature.

Press the 'audio' button once and you can control the sub level (its the first feature that pops up), adjust the sub then press the 'back' button and you're returned to the main display.

couldnt be easier. I listen to a wide range of music over lots of time...

older rock mixes are softer, newer reggae are subbed to death, and I listen to alot of rehearsal discs from band practice.. all have extremely varied levels and sub frequencies...so I adjust the sub alot.

Did you buy anything yet? I heard a 13TW5 and it sounded awesome. It shook the drywall in the audio shop. I would recommend one.

On my Kenwood you press setup, then scroll down to audio set up, then press adio set up, then press speaker select, then press sub woofer, then adjust sub level, then press menu, then press your input. I use a knob.
