Its not the traditional route, but it works and sounds decent. I used to have an extended cab F150 and installed an underseat box with two JL Audio 10w6's. When I sold that truck, I kept all the mods and they've been sitting in storage for a while.

I bought this DC in December and the previous owner had a system installed, but took out most of the goodies prior to selling it. The "professionals" that installed/uninstalled the system were hacks and I had to replair some items. So anyways, he happened to leave a pretty decent amp in the truck, so I decided to get my box I already had lying around and put it in the back. I have a camper shell so it would be protected from the elements and it would also serve as a "trunk". You can see how it is placed (downfiring), but I think I'm going to change the orientation so that it takes less space. I just have the bungy cords holding it until I get one of those bed dividers to hold it in place.

Just thought I would let you guys know that even though its in the back, it sounds good. I read that some people thought it wouldnt sound very good or strong because it was seperate from the cab. The windows on the shell are limo tinted over the factory tint, so its pretty much black and you cant see in. The only "issue" is that the wires for the sub go through the rear slider.

Something about things like this being in the back just seems like an invitation for a break in.

Yeah sorry man I think its just you literally have everyithing rigged and half assed. You have a sub in a camper held down with bungeecords and wires going through the rear slider window??? Seriously it sounds like you just threw everything in there lazily. If your going to do it at least do it right....

Well, it is what it is. I had this stuff lying around and I'm putting it to use. Why waste money on a box that only supports a shallow mount sub, or buy a POS Boss Audio powered sub that doesnt put decent sound and is known to break after a few months of use. The way I look at it, this is my dog hauler vehicle. No use in spending money on a truck that literally is only driven to take my dogs to the park and back.

^So your going to subject your dogs and their sensitive hearing to the abuse of a low frequency sub? How does that make sense lol?

I don't put my dogs in the bed. They're in the back seat, and I very rarely even have the stereo up. This stuff was laying around, so I installed it.

PS, have you made this exact post to the other threads about adding subs in trucks? I'm not entering in DB drag races, I just want some fuller sound.
