    ECGS sends the clamshell with it pre installed, that's why they ask what yeR make and model it's going in. No need to change them over.

    The stub shaft is not turning at all, it's not a matter of whether or not the collar is engaging it, you should be able to watch it spin when you've manually pulled the collar off the stub shaft but have 4wd and locker on. Lloyd doesn't have that. Collar off stub shaft, the stub shaft still isn't moving when the driver side is turning

    Double check this Lloyd. I'm almost positive the stub shaft was there, every other one I've done had it there.

    R u kidding? The stub shaft needs to be removed from your old clamshell and reinstalled in the new one. ECGS does not send one with it.

    I can tell you 100% for a fact that I didn't transfer on my own truck and i have and have used a perfectly function 4wd on countless occasions since I regeared my truck. Lloyd is the first person I have had have any 4wd problems and I've been with other people who's trucks I've regeared and watched them have a perfectly functioning 4wd

    I got mine in May. No stub shaft. @M192 did his in August. No stub shaft.

    Steve and Tim had no stub come with theirs either.
    Idk what the hell is going on with ECGS. In their instructions they tell you to remove the stub from your clam and reinstall on new one.

    Anyway, Lloyd, I have a spare stub shaft if you need it.

    A few months ago, I had two sets of 3rds and clamshells in the shop and there was something (I can't remember what it was) that was slightly different about the two third members. I called chase about it and he said it's just two different techniques of installation and it all depends whic tech is doing the work and that they do some things differently. So maybe there's just one guy there who does everyone the courtesy of popping the stub shaft back in so they don't have to pry theirs out, and the other guy doesn't bother. Maybe they don't put them in the clamshell if the one they're rebuilding didn't have one, who knows.
