    When I called them they said it's common for ppl not to use their old one. But he said that the ones that get them sent back with the stub shaft they rebuild and send to the next guy with stub shaft he said to check some of theirs have it some don't.

    Well, IFS Skid needs to be off the truck until I fix this front diff issue. And it might take awhile.

    The @Mobtown Offroad mid-skid (transmission skid) is bolted onto the front IFS skid for front support. Without the IFS skid, the leading edge of the mid-skid will hang loose.

    So, in order to leave the IFS skid off the truck, the Tranny skid needs to be removed.

    Well, in order to remove the Tranny skid, you have to remove the T-case skid, because they share the same mounting bolts and mounting location on the frame crossmember.

    Which means the ALL three skids need to be removed, if you want the IFS skid off the truck and still be driveable.

    Well, today I did a thing:

    I devised a pair of support brackets that will support the leading edge of the Tranny skid, using the skid’s front mount bolt holes and the aft cross member welded-on nuts (which is the bolt on point for the trailing edge of the IFS skid.)

    Now the truck is can be safely driven without the mid-skid hanging loose.
