I don’t need the stub shaft as much as @Braves95.

Actually, I think he needs my longer spare CV shaft.

I had a spare 5 minutes in my life so I created my rear drive shaft grease fitting plug (patent pending)

Ground down the grease fitting, soldered the hole, grind again to look pretty.

I’ve sheared off my zerk three times the last year. Hopefully this will prevent a fourth time.

Goal is to keep the grease inside the u-joint and the unwanted elements outside.

Yeah. At least that’s what you told me. Couldn’t find them anywhere online and all the auto parts stores never heard of it.

Couldn’t find the “Zerk Plug” that @stairgod speaks of - a zerk fitting with no nipple or hole for the grease to pass thorough. Essentially, a very short 1/4”-28 tapered bolt.

I think I’ll order the 1/4”-28 tapered flush grease fitting that you linked tho. It might work for my needs.

Thanks. I’ll need to measure shank length as there are several options.
    Not an easy find.
This is why a regular auto parts store don’t have a clue.

BTW, also wasn’t easy to find whether the Toyota OEM Spicer Driveshaft U-joint zerks were Metric or SAE.

    They are SAE 1/4”-28 tapered.

Even the Toyota dealership didn’t know.

Pulling off my air filter to check it.

Saw an opening to do the A/C drain mod. Already had the 5/8” I.D. hose and the stainless tubing clamp. 5 minute job.
