Sudbury and surrounding area

Hey!

Just wondering if there are any other TW people in Sudbury and surrounding areas (Capreol, Hanmer, Chelmsford and so on)?

If so, would you be interested in a meet and greet or trail runs (particularly overland/camping runs)? Just looking to see who's out there!

Just saw this thread today, as I was poking around.

I live in North Bay, my wife and I trail our Tacoma every chance we get, and camp with it all the time. We plan on camping this Friday if the weather will go our way

North Bay is a little ways from suds but everything in northern Ontario is way to far away lol

I lived in North Bay for a few years, and I am in the area occasionally to wheel with some buddies. I also drive up to Sturgeon often enough just for the pizza and chip stands... haha.

I’ll be in North Bay from Jul 1st-4th and would be down to spend a day out at VTMUS.
@llamasmurf if you’re interested and are able to, it’d be great to link up with someone who knows the trails well.
Figured I’d gauge interest and see if any others would be interested in joining in…

 

Saturday the 3rd or Sunday the 4th would be best for me.

Just waiting on parts to replace my AC compressor clutch, should be fixed by then

 

Let’s make it the 3rd. Whatever time and meet point that works for you, will work for me.
Might bring my dad with me so he can see what off roading is all about lol

 

Would love to join, but working in Sarnia right now. When I do come home I'm busy trying to catch up on stuff. Hopefully i can get away for a bit.

I’ll be in the area between the 1st-4th.
You should come out on the 3rd with @llamasmurf and myself if you can. Do some camping in the area and hit the trails on the 3rd.

My parents live in North Bay so I’m usually up there every long weekend, if anyone wants to plan stuff for the future as well.

 

Pretty much all the trails we will be on will be VMUTS, be sure to get your trail pass and help support them.

Not sure what is happening with my work schedule after this weekend, hoping for 3rd and 4th off.

 

I'm floating the Idea with the wife and a friend to go up the Friday the 2nd and leave the 4th. We might be in. I've been wanting to check out VMUTS for a while. I'll let you know @philth

 

One thing I suggest, 1st mod I did on my rig.

Rear diff breather relocate. There are several water crossings on VMUTS that can be near or over your rear diff.

Thanks for the advice and sharing that thread. This has been on my to do list. I just ordered the parts from Toyota.

 

Tks Buddy, i will have to wait one more month to be out in the trails. My wife is expecting in the next few weeks, so i have to be on call 24/7.

Doing the maintenance to be ready though.

We will be going from the meeting place out to the VMUTS trails, we can go to the lookout. Or the Mica Mine. Or both maybe? It is a bit of a long day on the trails going from one to the other but easily doable.

Yep it is all stock friendly, other than a few over the rear diff water crossings.

This is why I recommended the rear diff breather mod.

 

Really great day out on the trails with @llamasmurf and Jeremiah (don’t know his @ on TW lol). Thanks again guys for showing me around. Can’t wait to further explore next time around!



VTMUS is awesome, wish I had known about them when I actually lived in North Bay lol
