    Basically have to have them in by April 1st. They start accepting them march 15th. Any permit received between March 15th and April 1st gets a random order and they start from there. Any permit request starting after April 1st just go on the bottom of the pile.

    I did a short section (~15 miles or so) of the PCT from Stevens to Snoqualmie last year. Was planning to do the whole thing but ended up bailing out early for a few different reasons. Mostly I went to early and there was still a lot of snow to deal with. muddy trail, snow, and foggy made it not as enjoyable. Plus I was leaving for San Diego for 8 months the next week so I was worried about getting things in order for that.

    I definitely plan to do it again though! I might actually try to squeeze it in this year if I can. Depends on if I can get my ass in shape or not.

    Going to for sure split into 2 groups, figure one starts with Magruder and the other does Lolo, meet up for one night in the middle

    Ill look more in depth later or tonight but you really thinking itll take 6 or 7 days? I know the Mag. is *only* 110 miles. Seemed like the last group that did the Mag and Lolo only needed ~3 days if i remember right (been awhile since i browsed that thread though)

    I say 6 or 7 with a day driving to idaho and a day back, even if it does take us 3 days to do the mag/Lolo that's still 4.5-5 days from the time I leave home until I get back. Also I wanted to leave open an extra day in case something happened to one of our trucks

    Ahhh didn't know you were including the drive there and drive back days. Thought you were talking 6 days on the trail!

    Knowing that what day would you actually want to hit the trail? Saturday or go Sunday and give people Saturday to head that way?

    I know for me the return trip will be completely dependant on finish time. If we are done say at 2 with the trail I'll end up just going home that day. Finish more around 7 or 8 and I'd be staying somewhere most likely.

    For me the return day is that big of an issue. When we get done we get done sort of deal.

    Ohh I see. I thought I posted when I set the dates but I guess not. Starting the trail saturday the 25th and meet up in the towns at 9am on the 25th. I'll be heading over friday the 24th and camp that night.

    When we did it, it was 4 camp nights on the trail but we were taking our time and did not rush it. Since you are planning on a get together midway, you may be able to stretch the first day further than we did. This'll let you get to Darby/Hamilton by the end of the 2nd day.

    I might be up for meeting where ever the groups are doing the meet-up. I am in Missoula and am kind of familiar with the trail. Heck might even make a couple days of it. Also, just as an FYI. Right now the news is speaking of fire danger in missoula is being raised to high tomorrow for the forest. So this might be something to consider
