I have a 2012 ac base model...the sun visors do not have the slide out extension piece found on my rav4 and other toyota vehicles...

for those of you with the off road, sport ,sr5 packages - do you have that extension piece that slides out on your sun visors???

It is a real PITA the short visor only covers half the drivers side window....sun gets in my eyes all the time...needs an extension

    any ideas ????

    thanks

i have a ’07 TRD off road and i have them. they slide out torweds the mirror and i don’t see any use in them unless you fold it really far forward so that it goes behind the mirror other wise it blocks the mirror. i also don’t like how it makes the visors soo da** thick.

why not see about getting a strip of window tint across the hole width of the windshield. thats what i’m doing.

I took mine off, the entire visor that is.

When I tried to use it, it covered my vision, just like the stupid placement of the mirror (I bought a bracket which lowered the mirror).

as for the visor, I went to a shop and had a 5% strip put on the windshield up top and had it a good 1.5-2" taller than usual....I can see fine now even on sunny days.

Toyota rlly screwed the pooch on the mirror and visor setup on these trucks for anyone with a long torso

Thanks for the replies so far...I am not talking about the front windshield...I am talking about when the sun is coming at you sideways and you flip the visor over to the drivers side window...then if u have it- use the embedded plastic extension piece to cover the whole side...I don't have that plastic extension...

oh ok. i never flip the visors out like that. maybe get the side windows tinted a little? that should help most of it, and look good and help hid anything you have in the truck from DB thief’s.

my brother is going to get me mine done as a christmas present, but it’s a little to cold at night. i’m going 15% on the 2 front doors and 35% on the back and 5% strip across the windshield.

I have a 2012 sr5 with the slide out in the sun visor. It is a must on any vehicle I get in the future.

yeah honestly i would say since you dont have the slide out piece, it would be worth it to get a tint. tint is fairly cheap and works wonders.

to match the back windows, 27%, for both front windows was $60 for me. and i can still see perfectly fine at night.

I have no need for the extensions or the mirrors. I want plain black vinyl ones whether I have to paint them black with vinyl spray paint or not. Would rather them just already be black tho. Not worth it to buy overpriced new oem ones unless they come in black. Haven't found any yet..............

I need sun visor extenders for side windows for my early morning drive.
    I found a company called Visormates.com
