Got these mounted up and I couldn't be happier, now my back and legs won't kill me as much on long drives. Yay for more leg room!

I'll post a picture of them in the truck in the daylight

That's awesome. Could you post details about what you needed to do for the install? was it a big PITA?

I bought the Tacoma seat brackets from PRP which helped a lot, but I did need to drill the mounting holes out as it didn't line up exactly. I also had to unbolt the seat belt buckle and transfer it over. Pictures coming soon

Well putting these in wasn't too big of a job, just little stuff that got in the way. Had to make two trips to the hardware store lol.

Don't really have any install pics, but it's pretty straight forward.

Basically, all you get are the brackets, no bolts or nuts or anything. So to the hardware store I went for some grade 8 3/8"x3/4" bolts, lock washers and nylocks. Bolted the seat to the brackets first then realized I had to figure out how to mount the buckle to the slider (so when I go forward it does too, just like stock) this is what I came up.

I had some leftover shock spacers I didn't end up using for my coilovers, so I threw those between the buckle and the seat slider. The plan is to extend it eventually as it's just a little bit of a pain to buckle up. But not enough of a pain for me to care right now lol.

    IMG_2359.jpg

Again, this is just temporary until I get unlazy and build some kind of exo with bars coming through the cab for 5 points.

And here they are mounted. So far I love these things.

Nice build sir,,,question about those seats. How are they getting in and out? Is the bolster too tall? I've got Mastercraft and thinking of changing out. Having to clear my slider getting in then under the steering wheel but over the bolster is a sort of motion I hop through.

The sides are definitely lower than my buddy's mastercrafts he has in his jeep. Hence why I bought these. Being as tall as I am it's always a weird little motion I go through getting in and out though lol. But definitely not much worse than with the stock seats

    They look really good!

Thanks for the explanation and details. I really appreciate it.

The only thing that makes me a bit anxious about any aftermarket seat is that I have a regular cab. If the seat ends up slightly forward than the stock location, even if it's just a little bit, it will affect things negatively.

Anyway, you have a really nice set up there now.

I remember seeing this picture and thinking "how do even average sized people fit in a regular cab??"

But I think the way you would have to go is reclining seats to save up as much legroom as you can, and if you get the daily drivers you will be sitting quite a bit lower than the stockers

Great pic. That's exactly what i was referring to! I'm 6',0" and it is a bit tight in that reg cab lol. No chance a taller person can be comfortable in those.

Good idea about the reclining seats. That might be the way to go. The other issue is that I want some sort of cage. Wheeling in the southwest, you really need it. An internal roll cage, my first preference, will only make the interior of the already cramped reg cab even smaller. I have seen a few examples of hybrid low profile external cages (around the cab only) that I like. That could do the trick.

But i am doing both at the same time, seats + cage plus harness. So I need to plan things extremely carefully.

damn, how did that happen? Where you wheeling or did the coil snap just driving around?

It seems like there was no significant damage. Should be an easy fix to replace that bottom coil spring.

That actually happened to me once when I had IFS. I was just driving around and suddenly I heard a super loud KABOOM!. I thought I had ran over a dog or a big rock. I stopped inmmediately, and to my surprise the loud noise was the coil spring when it snapped. Same side too.

I'm about to start tearing it apart to see exactly how much I'm gonna cry when I buy replacement stuff, if it's just the coils not much crying, if I have to get new shocks....

What coilovers are those? Worse case scenario i bet you can rebuild them. No need to buy brand new stuff. But it looks like there was no more damage besides the coil

they are walker evans, with the dinky 3/4" shaft.

just took everything apart, basically what happened was the shaft backed out of the eyelet. it back out all the way but had enough weight on it to not completely come out of the eyelet. so it was just bouncing around in there destroying the threads on both. walker evans wont sell replacement parts, and i want some reservoir coilovers. i forgot i had 2.0"s so i wanted to get some 2.5"s but i barely have enough room in there for anything bigger than a 2.0" so im about to order some 2.0" fox resi's and some fox 2.0" air bumps and possibly some limit straps.
