I think my problem is somewhere else. Or maybe I need to hit the rads with a presser washer and not just a garden hose. Today idling in the starbucks drivethrough 85* ambient i hit 200 F, ac still worked though.

I can't imagine anything too crazy being the problem. Your engine is still pretty new, the cooling system should be working as advertised, especially with the new parts you have installed. I'd bet either air flow is restricted (possibly by a bad fan clutch), or your radiator is somewhat clogged up.

    Too many to list..
Going through the exact same issue.

In the last 3 weeks I have been off roading twice and noticed both times the temp gauge rising. Shut the AC off and opened the hood to cool off the motor. On one trip another guy had a 2010 SC'ed and has the exact same issue. Granted it was above 105 (Vegas after all) and A/C was on for sure. Just sorta happy I'm not the only one this is happening too. Plus it only started to happen this year. The last 4 years with the SC have been great, no issues at all.

But same with me on A/C blowing cold when moving, but sometimes when I come to light and stop it will blow almost hot air.. This part is not consistent at all. Some days it works great and some days it's a PITA.

Curious on what the resolution is.

We will get to the bottom of it. It's gotta be something stupid. I've been helping my brother move all day but when I get home I am going to test the fan clutch with a news paper and the engine hot.

Driving thru tall grass I had it get drawn into the bottom of the radiator between the radiator and condensor. I know your not driving thru grass in the desert but dust and dirt may be getting pulled in thru bottom of radiator and you may not see it.

Seems to be working good, can't stop it with the truck on. Also when it's off if I try to spin the fan it will spin one fan blade then stop

I'd say you definitely have a problem. It should be significantly stiffer when it's hot. Can you hear it moving air when you rev at lower rpm(~2000ish)?

Here's a video I took yesterday. It sounds like your clutch might need to be replaced.

I actually just took a video. It seemed stiffer than I remember. Driving on the freeway is usually 190-200 temp

I am getting the trd radiator cap today. It holds 1.3 pressure vs 1.1 on the stock cap.

Unless his had just gone bad or was faulty. In either case, unable to hold pressure, allowing the coolant to have a lower boiling point, and escape past the radiator cap.

I figure it's a cheap part to cross another possible issue off the list. I was comparing my rad to my brothers 05 tundra, it's got the 1gr-fe in it. It seems like his radiator is a bit thicker than mine. The fan shroud is a little different but I wonder if it could work in a tacoma..

I guess I will worry about that more once I figure out if I am going to replace my radiator or not. I think this weekend I might just buy a bunch of coolant, take the main rad completely out and pressure wash it real good, run some dish cleaner in it and wash it out. Then I'll reinstall it and put fresh coolant in it. Running pretty low on options, might try a new thermostat just for shits n gigs like the radiator cap.

Testing the thermostat is easy - if you have a stove and a thermometer handy. Just put the thermostat in a pot of water and start heating. It should be wide open by 170*F

Going through that much trouble to test it just replace it.

Takes 15 minutes to test - or you can drive to/from the auto parts store (or wait for Amazon) and spend $15-20 you could use towards other parts - or beer ...

I test them first - YMMV

I would have another one in my hand delivered to me before I took it apart. You gotta get a replacement gasket anyway to test it.
