Was kind of hesitant .. just because it runs slick now and got 260k miles .. but what the hell why not .. Ordered the magnuson supercharger for my 3.4 ... along with 7th injector upgrade . Anybody got any suggestions on anything else like water/meth injection . Piggyback fuel controller ? More than likely going to stick with just s/c and 7th injector upgrade .. never hurts to ask

Your truck won't boost for shit.

You need a new ECU, 95 and 96 ecus pull too much timing. Thats why it says 1997-2004 tacomas in the item description for what trucks it works with.

Does the engine or cab wiring harness need to be replaced with any of those year ecu's? I have a 98, but just curious in case I run across someone else that needs to know.

No. Same harness up until 98. Then the plugs change on the harness and ECU. That is assuming its the exact same ecu(4x4 5vzfe MT)

PN for the ECU that works for boost is 89661-04310

I could get a ECU from a 97 and hook it up and be fine ? .. sorry for the noob questions .. new to the boost and computer world lol I've always said I wouldn't never put a supercharger on it but oh well will give it a go .. just got mine back from being re geared to 4.88 .. not going to be running 70 + but as far as pulling and torque it's unreal what re gearing did

regearing is great. The blower will make it pull stupid hard all the way. Im on 5.29s and boosted. Super fun.

That said, you will need to swap the ecu. You can try it without doing that but most likely..you won't be able to really drive it for shit.

The main dude at URD - if you go through customtacos.com looking for supercharger info you'll find a bunch of his posts.

    The Bed is stock...ish

I've had great luck finding Toyota ECUs on car-part.com once you enter the vehicle search info, sort the search by price, go to the bottom, look for the oage number that has a star beside it and start looking there. I'd guess you xac get the ECU you need for 40-50$. Maybe less.
