Nice bike outdoorgb! I looked at those 300s but a little out of my price range. I didn’t go supermoto but I did pick up this DR for cheap. All I needed was something to follow my little ones around on there bikes. Does just fine on the back roads and trails.DBA5E0F9-8CC3-4A77-9445-8BFBCFB14201.jpg

If you get those 705s on a FS road or trail I'd be interested in some feedback. I have a 250L Rally that I've mostly been riding around town but want to get some new tires that could still be used for the trail.

I have ran Shinko 705's since about 2014.... 2006 and 2017 KLR and have used on FS roads quite a bit. They work...bring in a little thicker gravel or mud? I do not recommend. They are damn sticky on the road. Good wet also. I have confidence in the tire that's why I put them on the CRF. And $145 set delivered.

And, they are a pretty light tire which is good for the smaller CC bikes.

My braaaaap-mobile, 2008 WR250R with X wheels and front brake. First pic is from last summer, rest are from trips over the last 10 years (Dalton Highway outside of dead horse, stuck on a log in the Michaux Dual Sport in PA, and in Death Valley).

    Regarding dirt capable sumo tires…

As seen above, I’ve tried a variety of tires in a variety of conditions on my WRX. With 21/18 dirt wheels I liked Dunlop D606’s front and rear. They lasted well commuting and had great grip off road when aired properly.

When I switched to 17’s I was pleasantly surprised at how well street radials did off road. I tried the stock BT090’s, Bridgestone BT003’s, and Continental Conti-Motions and they all worked exceptionally well on *all* dry surfaces. Loamy trails in PA and MD, sand in the Mojave, and dirt roads from the Deep South to the Deadhorse.

where you need tread depth is soft mud and gravel over hard road surfaces. The 705’s should be slightly better than street tires but not much as they can’t clear the gravel down to a traction able surface. I run Shinko 244’s in 4.60-17 front and 5.10-17 rear and they’re a great 50/50 compromise on my 250.

I really enjoyed my 2018 DRZ SM. Coming from riding dirtbikes growing up it gave me that same feeling when you'd ride you dirtbike illegally on the road as kid. Lots of urban exploring and just general smiles. 3x3 airbox mod and a jd jet kit helps. Also a fmf header and exhaust.

I've seen a few pop up around my area recently but they are asking ridiculous prices. Although, if someone's willing to pay...

I mean they're bullet proof so it must be that people are just hanging on to them, you'd think after like 50 years of the exact same bike suzuki could afford to throw a 6th gear on the thing though

Yeah it a ktm clone headlight. And the reason they only change the color every year is the design of the drz is grandfathered in, any changes and it would have to meet all sorts of epa regulations and other stuff. If you think about it the, bike doesn't have any o2 sensors. Not the first DRZ or the ones being made in 2022

With today's high of 22F, I'm longing for the grossly humid days of summer...

With the sun shining and the wind gusting, I did a little abandoned building exploration close to home. 2nd pic is of an old stone motel that was a little creepy!
