Kelson has a very nicely lowered single cab.

As well, there will be some info thrown about in the Lowered B.S. thread.

    Thanks Torqspd

Yeah he def has a good looking single cab. Im actually just scared to go that low. But his thread gives me a good idea on how to achieve the height im looking for.
When i look at the body and suspension components of the truck i only want to lower like 2/2.5 but when I look at the GIANT gap between fender and wheel I want to lower it by like 3/4 lol

I guess I will put the lowering kit on and see how it looks after and readjust my plan accordingly.

Also ordered a shorty antena from Craven Speed today. Just a little touch to help with the "paw paw" look as my girlfriend calls it.

Also performancetruck.net is having a truck shootout on April 6th, it will be a hard deadline to meet, but Im using that date as motivation to have the truck ready.

Torspd you gonna be out there? I know you are from texas.

Paw paw  Must be an inside joke. ;)

Not sure if I will be there or not. First time I heard about it.

Was really wanting to be ready for TX2K13. But at this rate, it doesn't look like mine will be up to full potential by mid March either..... :( My fingers are crossed though.

Who knows, I might just be able to make that one you listed though.

Yours is getting there Kase.

Alright haven't been able to get much done, sorry for the lack of an update. I have the 8.8 rear axle cleaned up and ready to be paints black.
The calipers are also semi-ready to be painted red.

How do you guys suggest getting the calipers clean??
These things were caked with brake dust/grease. I started out by just wiping them down with acetone and a brush. Then I took a wire wheel to the large portions. I just can't get the crevices by the rubber boots clean without damaging the rubber shrouds.

I've been working on a friend of mine's truck the past week. He is trying to get it in trucking magazine. 2010 GMC 4door with 6.0 boosted with a 78mm turbo.
I'll prob post some pics of it when I get home.

Also wanted to hear everyone's opinions on pistons. I'm kinda just looking around for used GTE pistons, but I'm also considering going with forged low compression pistons from JE.
So what are yalls thoughts on just swapping in JE pistons, new gaskets and ARP hardware? Would I need to rebalance the whole motor??
If I'm swapping pistons should I also swap in rods and replace bearings while I'm at it??

Also small update, my drop kit came in Saturday, but I wasn't home to sign for it, so I guess I'll have to run to fed-ex sometime this week.

CP Pistons are my preference. If you are going to be installing pistons, then you might as well put rods in there two. If you are doing those, then definitely new bearings.

If you do either or, have it rebalanced. Since you are boosting it, I suggest both. Rods and pistons. Definitely some upgraded head studs.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking Torspd.
Can't hurt just to have the whole thing rebalanced.

But then that brings up a new option. If Im going that far in the motor I might as well bore it slightly over.

I also just purchased my turbo. Went with a precision ball bearing 6262 with .81ar.
Got it from a friend for $350, has a blown seal but no shaft play.
So I'll also be doing a small write up on rebuilding turbos.

    Update time!!!

Still haven't had time to pick up my drop kit from FedEx. :(

Shout out to Craver Speed on the antena, I got the stubby model from them for $25 and they shipped it right out. Put it on the truck last night and it looks great.

I plan on lowering the truck this weekend giving her a good wash and I'll post pics.

Not a lot of work has been getting done because I been busy, but I have been ordering parts left and right.

Kinda threw budget out the window this morning...
Ordered JE forged pistons 8.5 compression, BC forged rods with ARP2000 fasteners, ACL race bearing kit, and arp head studs.
