Hi all, love the forum, been here for years. Yes, finally broke down to subscribe...because I can finally put in on my Taco!

I've had my '06 2WD ACC TRD Offroad LB model for about a decade. Got her for city to beach, sand to snow Socal life. But, life threw a curveball and a few years after I got La Flama Blanca, started having kids. So, bye bye disposable income! Now, growing family in tow and a little more $$$ to spend, I'm selling and upgrading. So, in search of a new Taco, advice for what to look for, how to mod, maybe even selling tips, the whole deal.

That's me in a Taco. How'd I get in this Taco....that's another story entirely.

FYI, WTB: 2nd Gen Tacoma TRD Offroad 4x4 DCLB/DCSB

Appreciate that. Hot take, what's your/anybody's take on different 2nd Gen models/years and their ability to handle snow? Or point me in the direction of forum/link and I will grunt work the rest happily.

For snow, look for a 4 wd off road dbsb model.
Long bed is just a limo that gets high sided on frame rails. Unless you need a long bed.

Yeah, no, I don't need a long bed. Just got used to one with my old ride. But parking that extra foot is gonna be a **** in Socal. Like the idea of a shortbed with shell so I can move dogs. Forgot to mention, will also get full-size cab for 3 kids. Other main use...hauling wood off trail. So shortbed gets around those corners.

I have to navigate that long bed in socal... and yes it's a bitch.
The short wheel base makes it somewhat of a better choice for it imho.

Yeah, I am becoming convinced SB is the way to go. Though those longbeds have given me some crazy crazy nights...

    Thanks to all!
