I'm down for a weekend trip pretty soon. I've been wanting to do an extended treck but with a wedding and honeymoon next year 2018 won't be the year for it I don't think

The bars out there haven't seemed to be in great shape lately... The flow was strong offshore yesterday and it was big but Totally closed out. I've been going down further.

Anybody ever give shaping a try? Been wanting to pick up a planer and try for a retro fish/egg.

I did. every surfer should do it. for one it is super fun. great experience. also it will make you big time appreciate your shaper. won't feel so bad paying them for boards. you'll also realize shaping your own board isn't super cheap.

and i shaped this handplane with the foam that was left.

My gen 2 hand planes before glass and paint. These ones are like razor blades. Much more refined and thin than the last batch.

I also included a couple pics of two boards I picked up from my shaper last week. I'm stoked on them! 6'8" step up and a 5"6" fish. Can't wait to break out the step up!

Thanks! They turned out 10x better than my first run! They are hand planes for bodysurfing like @Pikestaco posted above. I used foam from broken boards. But yes it is also practice for when I get the chance to glass a full sized board. They are so freakin tiny it's tough to glass them.

Yea man! ill give you one if you'll use it! Be warned, this next batch are super tiny. Depending on how much you weigh, you might want to wait until the next batch... im going to do some bigger ones eventually too.

I gave all the other ones to my homies and only one has ridden it yet. hahaha
