Mid atlantic surfer here. riding mainly a 9' catch surf since I'm 6'3 and close to 220 (and not that good at surfing) and the waves are ankle high more often than not haha. that board takes like three big paddles and you can catch most anything. and handles biggish waves without any issue either

fits nicely on top of the cap too

if i moved further than 10 minutes from the ocean i am going all the way to the mountains in Utah.

once you're futher than 10, the amount of ocean time you spend is cut in half at least. the further you go, the less you see the ocean. the taxes, traffic, and all around annoyance of living in southern california isn't worth it to me if im not at the beach a couple times a week.

100% agree. I love surfing, but SoCal is crazy. If I didn't live at the beach it wouldn't be worth it for me.

You're telling me. I've surfed once in the last year and a half since starting my new job. Miss the days of working in Huntington and surfing 3-5 times a week

Whoa. You in Clovis? Lived there the first 15 years of life. Went to dry creek elementary. Alta sierra then one year to buchanan.

    Do you surf? Pismo beach?

I used to quite a bit before I got a job with the state staffing patterns kill my year, but I told myself I would get back into this year no matter what, I just miss it to much. I usually hit up morro bay or hb. The beaches in pismo are getting ruined by some certain people. Grew up in slo so clovis is a big change lol

I’m in Utah for holidays. Glad it hasn’t been pumping back home. But there isn’t even snow up here.

Love the global warming though. Nice it isn’t freezing cold!

Come to my neck of the wooded coast. Lots of waves. On second thought... stay put. I like peace and quiet. :poking: Jk. If anyone needs some colder water therapy, hit me up. I'd be glad to share some olas.

I definitely have wanted to go to the Santa Cruz area. I've heard sf has great waves as well

Cruz is great but crowded. OB can be amaze balls this time of year. Lots of nooks and crannies everywhere else.

Been surfing in norther Spain for the last 2 weeks. It's been PUMPING, honestly had some of the best rides of my life this trip. Makes me want to move here.

One thing I always forget about though is that the dick draggers out here have no respect. If you go to a crowded break, your gonna wanna murder the spongers by the end of your session. I was honestly fanticising about slashing tires last night. Probably the only thing about SoCal that I miss! Haha
