Yeah, it is not a soft wave by any means. It is heavy too, its just that you can drive there vs fly to central america haha. It is also a place that after it gets over 10ft on the face, thing become quite serious. There is a reason why surfline rates how hard it is to paddle out somewhere, Ocean beach san fran at 15ft being a 10 on the 1-10 scale haha. Even at 6-8ft faces I always jump in the rips to help me get out. But in early fall, head high OB is a play ground!

Yeah I'll have to work my way up waves and a paddle out that big. I'm hoping that it picks up around here soon.

Anybody ever surf in Israel? I'm headed to Israel/Egypt in a couple of weeks and looking to get some surfing in (assuming there are some waves). Looking for recommendations for rentals as well as surf spots. We'll be staying in Tel Aviv mostly but I may be able to convince my girlfriend to travel a bit to score some waves.

The book is awesome. I read it a year or two ago and am actually rereading it currently. He is a Pulitzer Prize winning writer that has been surfing for nearly 5 decades. He spent years traveling abroad surfing everything from pipeline to kierra. He was one of the first people to surf tavaru as well before it was a resort. I highly recommend it both from a literary stance and as someone even remotely interested in surfing.

I know there are waves in Israel. I haven't been but I watched some series on Redbull tv about surfing remote locations and they had an episode where they went to Israel. That's about all I got

Ran in to an old high school friend last week at a brewery. He works for Rip Curl now at their HQ or something. Told me he can get me any suits I want for half off. Thinking I’m gonna get a full short sleeve. They’ve got this new no zip design that I’m gonna try out me thinks

The no zips are the worst. You have to be a contortionist to get out of them. I heard they updated them. But who knows now

I have yet to see. I will likely try one on first before ordering with my friend. He said they’re pretty slick, he rocks one. If not I’m sticking to th chest zip. I’ll never go back to a back zip

The way he described t to me was basically a chest zip but with a draw cord instead of a zipper. So I dunno. I’ll post pics whenever I go try one on

Getting body in isn’t hard. It’s the arms. Getting arms out is tough. But again. I heard they made changes since I got mine. (Was first year of no zip). So could be much better now.

Just got my bday present from the wife. Need essentials 3/2 chest zip. I dig it. It's comfy plenty of flex and warm.

Put a nice little dent in my rail with the back of my head the last time I went out. Uglies solar res job I’ve ever done to fix it too  that poor board... broken fin box, someone’s nose of their board in to the bottom of my board, pretty sure I’ve had another big ding along the lines I had to get professionally repaired and a few other minor chips and dings I’ve solar rezed myself

Yeah I have a poorly fixed ding in my rail, this one I might take to get fixed professionally but I have a big problem paying someone to do something I can do myself, but I know someone could do a better job.

If it’s a small ding/crack I always do it myself. If it’s fairly big I’ll pay someone to do it. Although if I get another big ding in this board, I think I’m hanging it up on the wall permanently. I’m pretty sure I’ve paid more for ding repair than I have for the entire board
