I'm hoping to be able to demo them both next week at CI's demo week in costa mesa. The Ultra Joe seems like it might fit HB waves a bit better, but we'l see

Yeah, Rocket wide handles sloppy sc beach breaks pretty well. Lemme know how you like it!

Get a fish! haha I don't rip so I have more fun on my fish or sometimes mini simmons but both will be a lot different than a high performance groveler.

I don't rip that hard either, but I try lol. I want the groveler to still be pretty snappy. I have a 6'2 quad fish but it's a bit big for me. I don't surf it much though.

Anyone on here surf north of the Golden Gate? Always looking for someone to surf with, cuts the chances in half of getting bit in half! ;)

Nice, yeah my first fish was 6'0 and 2 3/4 thick and was fun but too much volume, always felt like I was fighting it. Now I ride one the right size and once you figure them out they are a lot of fun, and they catch the tiny/soft waves. Mini simmons are fun too. Highly recommend for soft breaks

I just took my Infinity 5F out, it was the first board I ever had before I knew about proper volumes needed. I will not be riding that board again. Thing is WAY too big for me. I think it's almost at 40 liters. I ended up being pissed I Brought it because the waves ended up being pretty decent. First wave I took on it, got up and in really easy, did just a little bottom turn and then came up and tried to do a little cut back and my fins just blew out of the water and I went down. Happened a few times this morning. Just couldn't get the fins to bite. That board is now going to sit and hang in my office as decoration lol.

It also punched me in the mouth after going down once so I got a nice swollen upper lip area now.

Yes and no haha. It’ll be fun for some (hopefully) good waves, but was hoping for the typical HB summer waves this week so I could test out the boards I’m wanting to get in the conditions I’ll usually be surfing them in. Not gonna take a full on groveler for a 6 foot day haha

Picked this up to demo. What a board. Think this is the one I’ll get. 5’9 ultra joe. Picked it up and went straight to HB. It was big. Thing handled really well. I’m too out of shape to surf these size waves in the HB current right now though. Gonna try again tomorrow hopefully find a bit smaller of a spot to test it
