I could believe 23, but 26... I kinda gotta throw the bs flag as well. I can almost get 20 with my 285's, which are mudders, seems to make a big difference. The best i could get stock was a little over 21mpg. I tried my hardest. I think we should disect your truck for analysis! :)

how did you calculate this? I will go as far as to say it is impossible no matter how light your foot is (in the v6)

Might be possible in a hot weather but not at 70mph... 60 to 65mph with no winds maybe...

maybe depends on the elavation change...half of my driving is down a hill so I can hit 70+ coasting...but then the other half of my driving is up that hill...my avg is 20.1mpg(17-21.5) out of 75 entries & $3,544.30 in gas via Gas Cubby iphone app

Gonna go ahead and jump right on the BS bandwagon! Likely impossible.

My fuel economy got better after running 285/70/17 MTR Kevlars compared to stock. I run 45 psi on the pavement, 30 on gravel roads. I get over 20 mpg as well.

Take your foot off the gas on a downward slope and your instant MPGs will read 100. Doesn't mean you are actually getting 100 for any meaningful distance. The point I was trying to articulate was that getting high MPG for a very short distance is possible, but hardly possible over longer, real world distances.

    26.4mpg x 17 gallons = 448.8 miles.... is that even possible with a v6?

I ain't saying it ain't so, I ain't saying it is gospel, I am just saying it would be damn hard to do. The best I have ever done is 24.5, and that is running 265 firestones at 40 PSI, full synthetic engine oil, and constantly monitoring my speed, no cruise, and drafting whenever I can. I ran 65 or so for that trip.:D

Wow dude, that sucks...I would sell my truck without a single look back if that happened to me on a regular basis.
I filled up last night and it came to 21.8, and that included hauling a couple of 1000 lb loads for about 40 miles each.

Got ya... you were talkinig about the reading on the Scangage or similiar device. I don't have one of those.

My mind just thinks miles driven/gallons pumped=mpg.
