Hi all ..wanting to lift my 2022 TRD Sport (Shortbox 5spd Manual)

looking at the "add a leaf" - by icon (currently on the Sherwood Park Alberta dealers parts site)
    says will get approx 1-1.5"...

and then just front spacers (3") for the front end

End result is to raise and more closely level the truck,

then put the bronze 17" TRD rims on and 285/70R/17. tires.

Any thoughts on whos done this or the pros/cons of add a leaf vs the blocks that many levelling kits have for the rear?

Also going to order the PC38 Pedal Commander on Amazon.

any suggestions or thoughts...I know the extra leaf spring will also help reduce future rear sag when towing or loaded..

Icon AAL is a good option to lift the rear, are you doing spacers in the front for a particular reason?

That 3" spacer lift up front will put too much angle on your cv's... even with a differential drop. The boot ribs will ride and get torn over time. Best to keep it around 2".

This, and a few other problems. 2" is best, and good luck on fitting 285's. Rub-a-dub, unless you get uca's and good alignment.

So after some more research and this forums, going to do rear with AAL, and front is planning on the adjustable Bilstein5100 Part #24-263108, for now, to get 2" on front, tires. looking at Nitto Ridge Grappler 275-70/17.
Maybe in time with more $ do the front springs also? is recommended on some chats?

Any suggestions or Has any one done this set up ?

Getting near the max limit of the control arms, and with tires that may or may not rub, you probably won't be able to get the caster alignment that you need with that setup. I'd make sure that UCAs are in your budget.

If you're going to spend that kind of money on a pedal commander why don't you just go for a proper tune and get all the MPG and power benefits? @Magiriano (Alex) is in Calgary and often goes up to Edmonton.

What purpose did you want the lift/tire combo for? Improvements for offroad or just looks?

having the bilstein 5100 using the clips to get 2" of lift , vs using OME 887 coils , was night and day difference in my opinion, using just the 5100 for lift rode really rough, i replaced coil springs shortly after and it rides way better. just my opinion, get the coil springs.

2" 5100's here on stock coils (as per Bilstein recommendations). Also, if you go the 2" TRD Lift, they also use the stock coils.

    NO PROBLEMO!

I put a Torch AAL on mine. I have a shell and carry shit for work a lot. Added stability and some height.

I put Billstein 5100s all around and lifted the front.

Spacer lifts are wack. 5100s are pretty f'n cheap. I'd recommend. Lifetime warranty. Made for the trucks. Shocks have a built-in extra 3/4" to fix the downtravel loss.

I ran the 5100s on stock coils with a 1" block in the rear of my '15 with 265/70/17 and all was well.
I now have a '22 with Eibach 2" coils/struts and a 1.5" AAL on the rear with 275/70/17. A little rubbing, but my biggest complaint is that going from a 265- to a 275- adds a lot of weight due to a heavier class of tire. You'll definitely feel it being more sluggish and drinking more fuel, but it sure looks good!

I'm waiting for a 5100 kit from shock surplus, they had the best price I could find, $650 w/o front struts assembled... But the front end 5100s are on back order until August.

If you want them now, Car ID has them in stock, but you'll have to source the coils and top hats separately or reuse them from your stock setup.

Post up some pics when you're done!

I have this setup on my DCLB . Stock springs as I haven’t had the need to change. Get a front alignment after. I have had zero issues.

I use stock coils, OME sag over time. Riden and drove a few on OME springs. I noticed no difference and been in this tacoma with OME a time or two. Oh, his started sagging and now he is back on stock coils. I feel my ride is way better than the stock shocks so thats a plus! Been on this setup going on 4 years and could not be happier!
