Okay. I have a 2013 access cab. I pull trailers a lot and I added Firestone airbags with the daystar cup on the bottom. When the truck is unloaded and airbags empty I have basically no uptravel and the truck rides like I’m banging bump stops. Will getting a set of ome heavy duty’s give me more room between the leafs and frame?

Hmmm so you need some kind of leafs that give you more room between the body and the actual leaf springs.

I have old man emu and I’m not sure there is more room in between them. Maybe like an inch?

Unless your stock springs are so old and used up, that they are already close to the body.
    This is tricky

I would have thought they would have given me more than that. Looks like in front of the axel it is completely flat. Almost a negative arch. But I have looked a several newer tacomas and they all seem to be that was. I just want more clearance between the frame and leafs. I was also told that maybe a new set of shackles would help that also. So I’m unsure of how to proceed in this endeavor of every mod needs a supporting mod to make it work. Kinda funny how that works. As we all know this will turn into a money pit if the mod bug gets you. The bags work fantastic when the truck is hooked to the trailer. But empty it’s a 3 legged mule pulling a square tired trailer.

@esgordon123 Here's my thoughts. If you swap out rear leafs, you'll gain space between the axle and frame, but also consider that you'll be mounting the Daystar cradle a little higher, equal to the new thickness of the leaf pack.
Are you keeping some pressure in the air bags? I read that the recommended unloaded pressure was to be 5 psi to avoid potential damage.

To be honest, I don't know anything about air bag setups, but I remember seeing your thread pop up and I wanted to learn more. YouTube helped me understand the installation of this setup, so I do have some basic understanding.

FWIW, there is also a thread for the Firestone airbags here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/official-firestone-riderite-lift-thread.279865/
Maybe posting in there will trigger others that are more familiar with your situation to post. I hope you figure out a solution.
