If anything, regardless of what oil you use.....more often than not, your vehicle frame/body are gonna rot out long before engines fail (with regular maintenance).

Agreed. I think with modern cars, an engine will outlive the structure of a car if properly maintained. I haven't heard of anyone who has suffered a catastrophic engine failure due to oil not due to to oil. therefore I go back to is synthetic really necessary for most Tacoma user's going by Toyota's recommended OCI....my guess is no...
