Truck looks awsome! I agree, the experience and memories of working on the Tacoma with his pops in invaluable!
Love how the plasti-dip came out. Wondering was it part of the process to use two different color coats? Or did you guys just not like the grey?

The two colors is a part of getting that deep red look or Super Red as they call it. I don't pretend to understand those things and I went based on the recommendations from the manufacturer to get that color. They said putting it down on white would have given a different color. I guess gray is a good base to let the true color show. It's funny though, because the gun metal gray was our 2nd choice color and it did look awesome with just the gray. Still, it was very much a primer gray and we didn't want there to be any confusion that this was just a rattle-can primer paint job.

If we were to go gray, we'd do the anthracite gray which is a darker and more metallic looking gray. Maybe next year? :)

Love the look you achieved with the color. That's what I kinda figured was just not sure if the dip worked the same as paint in that regard. Ya I also love the look of the anthracite gray as well. This is @thunderone 1st Gen he dipped In that color....

I was looking for that pic! His profile is the one that convinced me to go that direction. His truck is awesome and really influenced our look. I've got one of his pics taken looking down on the truck saved somewhere. Very cool.

Thanks for the link. I will put some pics there for sure. The picture I'm remembering was first a different angle, up higher and looking down on it in a parking lot. That's another nice pic though. Very sweet looking truck. I really want those bumpers and lights!

They are Ultra 195 Crushers in satin black. 15"x8" in size. I got them from Les Schwab. They are perfect with the matte paint job.

The only mistake I've seen you make this whole thread - as a truck guy you should know better. It will be done when another one starts. lol Man your kid is going to be a master mechanic even if it's just to keep his own vehicles on the road and is going to have a great understanding of basic mechanical principals - more than he could ever learn in high school. Liking it! Keep it up!
