Can someone help me? I always want to make sure my wiring is 100% before hooking it up.
I bought a @CaliRaisedLed light bar, and I am wanting to hook it up to my Switch Pro. Bar draws over 18 amps, so will have to use the inline fuse that came with the wiring harness, but also has a 40 amp relay.
Do I cut the relay off, or install with it on? Anyone who has wired up this same light bar or similar, your input and pictures are appreciated.

Did a similar install with my light bar. Install the light bar per the manufacturer's instructions, *with* the relay, run the wires to the battery, etc. Instead of whatever switch Cali included, you wire it to your switchpro. So the red trigger wire coming out of the switchpro engine bay unit takes the place of the in-cab switch for the light bar. That way, the switchpro triggers the relay, which then draws power straight from the battery to run your light bar.

 

Awesome, thank you. All makes sense, I was just thrown off by that relay, and was hoping to eliminate it due to the bulk of the wiring. Will wire per the instructions, mount the relay, and run the positive lead of the switch on the harness to the Switch Pro, correct? Thanks again!

So here is where I am confused. As you can see from the picture, the relay has 3 sets of wires coming out of it. One set that lead to the light bar connection, one set leading to battery connection with an in-line fuse, and the the third set leading to the switch. The switch has 3 wires included in it, and the the set leading to the battery has 2 wires. What would I run to the Switch Pro, and what would I cut/eliminate?

Also, I plan on running stock fogs lights off of my Switch Pro. Do I need a relay to do so? @Nitori

 

So those three wires plugged into the switch are 12v in, ground in, and 12v signal out. That is, power and ground are delivered to the switch, and when the switch is set to "on," it delivers 12v power out along the signal wire.

Since your switchpro is replacing the Cali Raised switch, what you want to do is connect one of the red wires coming out of the switchpro to the signal wire coming out of the Cali Raised switch. The power and ground wires going in to the switch you can tape off and disregard. You just have to figure which one of those wires is the 12v signal coming out of the switch.

My guess is that white wire coming out of the switch will probably be the signal wire, but to be sure, you'd have to refer either to Cali Raised instructions, or perhaps call or email them to ask. The switch and relay might have markings on them. If you have a multimeter or can borrow one, you can just plug the whole harness in, hook it up to your battery, and touch the multimeter to those contacts and see which one delivers 12v out when the switch is set to "on."

 

I understand what you are saying, but my only problem with that is that the bar requires a 30amp fuse to run. SP is maxed out at 18amps per circuit. The inline fuse on the wiring harness in on the two wires that are supposed to go to the battery.
My initial though was to cut and tape the switch wires, and run the red wire from the SP to the positive wire with the inline fuse, and then ground the ground wire. Sorry for the confusion, just not sure how to proceed.

If your stock fogs are on the stock (or my sneaky "stock" retrofit) circuit, honestly I would just keep it off the switch pros because of the headache of de-fitting it from the stock circuit (ground switched).

Anyways if you're dead set though, I do not believe the switch pros needs ANY relays, as it is a solid state switching unit (which is why it's so expensive- instead of big clicky-clacky relays, it's space magic in a box. )

If it's sooner than later I'm in. I have my bumper being built and should be ready mid November. And I stallings lights then. So if we can get one before then it in. Otherwise just have to order one full price.
