Do you have more pictures of how the flush mount panel is mounted to the dash? I've been trying to figure out if you have to cut out a hole only slightly smaller than the switch panel or if it just needs a hole big enough to run the wires through.

Ordered my kit from @SDHQ OFFROAD via @tubbsisland
They make a custom panel for the Switchpros controller to mount in cleanly and instructions are very clear.
Cliff was super helpful and @JerryTaco provided some tips and inspirations from his build.
Definitely recommend reaching out to these guys if you're looking to install this system!

We offer a pre laser cut OEM panel for the 3rd gen Tacomas to fit into the location others have posted in this thread. @WhiteBeltBatman is running this exact kit. Shoot me a PM and we can get a panel out for you. We also offer this complete kit on our website for those interested in ordering complete.

what wires are you guys taping into on the fuse panels? My kit is enroute and trying to figure if I should just fuse tap it or hardwire directly to the wiring and what fuses/wires to use.

    Appreciate and input.

    thanks

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
im just using tap a fuses. not very clean but works fine

I'd prefer not to cut into the wiring. I've had enough of that done with crappy installers, and plus if i switch vehicles, I want to be able to easily remove anything I've installed.

What are you looking to tap? Switched 12v? If so, there's a fuse in the main box that can be tapped, but it's better (safer) to tap the cigarette lighter circuit (I tapped the one in the center console for my needs).

One has to be ignition or ignition accessory signal, second has to be to parking light or side marker light.

So yeah I think the 12v cigarette lighter will work, the other will need to be a light that when it turns on it also dims the switch pro if I am reading that correctly. Lots of options out there. I have a bunch of fuse taps, I may use in the interim to figure out how i want to wire this in correctly.

My thoughts right now are posi tap to cigarette lighter to get a keyed source for power, and to then tap into the parki beam headlight to get the dimming function the control panel to work. That should accomplish the goal and be completely reversible without risking damaging the wiring or fuse panels. Unless I am seriously misunderstanding something here.

EDIT: That should read parking light, not headlight, it states in the instruction not to use your headlights.

Not all the dealers have that option available to them.

No they do, it's called an SP8200. They have been available for all dealers for a few months now. They also have red and are working on a few other backlighting options

$90 for a mounting bracket is a bit steep. there are members here who make them for 1/3 that.

90 bucks for a mounting bracket? Are you talking the reprinted 3rd gen panel? We have members making those? Pleas point me to where they are, I would gladly support them as I am planning on cutting my panel up to fit the switch pro and the extra button or two.
