Here’s what I came up with. Not the cleanest but it works. You won’t see the rear of the ram plate when it’s mounted. I’ll also be replacing the mounting screws for the panel with some shorter black screws.

Why bother replacing them? They're thread rod. Why not just remove them?

Tied several boat anchors to my truck to destroy MPG.
anyone else wire up a Rigid backup light kit to a Switch pros 9100? the Rigid kit comes with a 3 way switch (off/on/auto) so the lights work automatically when you throw it into reverse. i would prefer to use my Switch Pros if possible instead, even if I don't get *all* of that.

I'm thinking that I just wire it up to the 9100 so with a trigger getting power from reverse +, so when I throw it in reverse it gets power and the lights come on.
I haven't fully dug into the wiring harness diagram for the Rigid kit, has anyone else made it work with that harness or do you just run two wires back to make this work, with a third connecting the trigger to something that gets power you throw it in reverse?

I'd do what you said, wire it up to the 9100 and use a trigger wire off the reverse lights. Quick and easy.

About to wire in some Baja S8 light bars and looked at the wiring diagram for their "backlight" feature. Am I correct in assuming the Switch Pros can't handle both regular lighting + the backlight feature on a single switch?

It can if you want them lit up together. If you want independent control then you need 2 switches.

Cool. yea... I guess that's what I meant. Was hoping I could wire both into one switch and control them independently. Thanks!

I wired the backlight onto a lower current switch and the backlight onto a higher current switch. This allowed me to trigger the backlighting with the low beams and turn on the lights as needed. Wiring them on the same switch is silly, you may as well not even wire in the backlighting because the light itself is so bright...

    SwitchPro Firmware Revision 1.2

Shopping for a Switch Pro, I noted that their upcoming RCR-Force 12 panel had an enhanced dimming function WITH MEMORY. This is a feature I wanted specifically for camping; but I had no requirement for the larger 12 switch panel, so I asked the company (Off Road Engineering) whether they could upgrade their firmware for the SP9100 to include this feature.

To my surprise, they had already implemented this function in the SP9100! The firmware revision for the SP9100 has been upped to Rev. 1.2 and the date of the revision is 1/20/20. The revision number is noted on the power module and also on a small tag on the switch panel pigtail.

Unfortunately, the SP9100 is not sophisticated enough to allow for dynamic upgrading of the firmware for Rev. 1.X owners. FWIW, I suggested they put a WP USB port on future products for diagnostic/firmware upgrades.

If you are considering purchasing a SP9100 and appreciate your dimmed settings remembered, ask specifically for the 1.2 revision.

For all my lights I didn’t bother using the included harnesses. The SP makes it so easy to just run a positive and negative wire and build your own harness.

Exactly. You setup the SP with a trigger wire to a circuit that's on with reverse (i.e. b/u lights), configure the switch number in the app and just run a custom two wire harness.

yeah thats what i'm doing, I actually already have the trigger wired up for reverse. Now just need to run the wires back....and install the bumper that the lights will live on.

Question for you guys. SP has been great Only issue I have is with my BD 40” S8. I have each positive running to a separate switch as kinda discussed above. The main light is tied into switch one (20amps). The problem I’m having is after a while that switch blinks several times and the light turns off. I also can’t run that light with the car off. Do I need to move the light to switch 5 with the 35 amp limit? All the connections look good.

Yes. When it shuts down and blinks, it’s drawing too many amps and shuts down. Had the same thing with my SR40. Moved it to switch 8 and it’s been fine
