Very busy section and don’t believe that’s the safest location for your switchpro. Responded to your PM. Let’s see if we can fix this

Soooo, I just installed an ARB twin with a Switch Pro (on a Rago tray) for a 3G taco. Didn't do a step by step but I will be putting together a Youtube video going over the install.

Yeah, that's just shitty work, even were one an amateur. Good example of why ya just need to find the time to teach yourself, and do it yourself. Buy some wire, loom, heat shrink, connectors, etc., etc., and take a day to practice. Then get it done.

I'm a bit anal about such things, but I Hate....HATE seeing uncovered wire under the hood. Multi colored spaghetti, and not well protected against chafing. Not sure if you have a recourse if you didn't tell them how you wanted it, but I'd rip that mess out and start over. I'll bet ya $100 right now any connections they made were not soldered and heat shrunk. Which of course at some point down the line may result in corrosion, bad connections, and trying to track down lighting / equipment failures, blown fuses, etc. Plus it just looks bad.

Solder, flux, cheapie solder gun, un-insulated connectors, heat shrink, and braided loom or plastic wire tubing, and zip ties don't cost a lot, protect your wire and connections, and will make it look like a pro did it. Or at least someone who cared.

And honestly, if you're not good at it, even your first attempt likely won't look anywhere near that bad if you just do some of the above. Even if you don't solder, ditch the insulated connectors, go un-insulated and cover them with heat shrink. But make sure you get a good solid crimp on the connections.

I mean... it’s not 100% wrong. But not 100% right either. I just did this yesterday. If you need help, DM.

Hey guys, have an issue with my 9100 unit. The other night I ran some of the lights. Shut them off got home locked the truck an then the fog lights turned on. Lost control of the switch pannel as in I can’t turn on any other lights at all an the fogs are not on full power they are very dim.
Unplugged it all left it for a few days plugged it back in but its still messed up. Any ideas!?!
next step is to contact switch pro but figured I would ask here

Pull the main plug on the unit and see if there is water / corrosion in there.

Check to make sure your ground for the controller and hot leads are making good contact, not corroded, and tight.

Same thing happened to my 8100. Maybe water damage? Is it mounted on its side or facing up?

It is on its back. It been that way for quite awhile an no issues an if I remember correctly it wasn’t wet outside the day we had issues.
What was your fix when you had the issue?

It’s pretty simple if you look at the wiring diagram for the twin. The purple wire is the positive trigger and black is ground. Not sure why it is so complicated to figure out. I wouldn’t be going back to that shop if I were you.

circling back to this - is there a place to tap the fog circuit that is closer to the fuse box?

I already ran both my trigger wires in the fuse box and don’t want to take one of them out to run just a single wire to the middle of the crossmember :anonymous:

Inside the engine relay/fuse box is the fog relay...ingenuity to tap the pins you need, or come from below the relay (inside the box), since you want to keep it in the engine area...

Thanks. I’ll see if I can figure out which pin on the relay is the one I need and see if I can figure out how to tap it from the top side of the fuse box.

What input of the fog relay do you need?

I’m embarrassed to say this, but electrical diagrams to me are like trying to read something that’s written in Chinese :anonymous:

5 is the output wire to the fog lights?! If I think I’m looking at it correctly

My fog lights are wired directly to my SP. when I turn the fogs on at the stalk I want them to work like factory using one of the triggers on the SP. my other trigger is tapped into the high beam fuse, and I have it currently programmed to trigger on my fogs, ditch lights, and light bar.

The vehicle stalk switch is a negative one.
Are the fogs OEM or add-ons?
If you notice in the drawing, there are to wires of same color going to the relay, these are (+) fused hot. The green (5) goes to the fog lamps. And the remaining one (beige) is a negative to close the coil inside the relay.
What you have and what the vehicle has is not compatible "circuit-wise".
