Ok, I want someone to ETML5 how I wire up my switchpro 9100 to my reverse lights. Right now, I have the 9100, it’s comes on when the truck comes on. I think it’s ignition that gives its power. I have my reverse lights on a switch, but they only come on when I turn the button. I know I have a trigger function, but can’t seem to figure it out. What I think is I need to run my trigger wire to the reverse light fuse, then program that switch for the trigger. Is that correct?

If there is a fuse for reverse give it a try but it might be always hot. In that case you might need to steal the trigger from the cab or a reverse bulb. I can do a T tap for reverse bulb if that helps, or a custom DIR w extra + trigger.

Got it figured, took a few minutes to play with it all. Well I’ll help you guys, my switch4 is my button for reverse lights I have on my CBI bumper. What I did was take the pink trigger wire, and tapafuse to BKUP LP no2, went into my app and turned on twigger/enabled s4 and pop goes the weasel. They now trigger on with reverse lights and I can still manually turn them on and off.

@daveeasa So I'm getting a nice SP setup from @AY_ARONTRD and before I start getting jiggy with add a fuse's for the trigger wiring, was wondering what kind of crafty solutions you may have?

I have a set of retrofit headlights, so I have a LOT of wiring up by the headlights and don't necessarily want to add anything else there.

I saw earlier in the thread you mentioned you might be able to get the trigger wires all setup from a steering wheel stalk connector? That sounds like a super clean option.

I have no good options for ignition.

I can get you a T tap for halogen DRL connector to steal parking light (white SP wire, pink OEM wire). Then if you want your aux trigger off high beam we can tap that too (pink SP wire, white OEM wire). There is a silly inverted symmetry with this specific setup.

It’s pretty easy to grab parking lights in the cab though so that’s a good option for that one specifically.

I got my SP-9100 installed over the weekend and I noticed something really weird. I tapped into the parking lights at the headlights (OEM LED) and at night they work as you would expect. At night with the lights in auto, parking or turned on the backlight comes on, and when off is selected the backlight is off. However in the day time, the backlight comes on with the headlights in auto or off, and turns off when the headlights are in parking or turned on. Really weird... I tapped into the pink wire going into the headlights. Should I tap into a different wire instead?

My understanding of the white wire is that it will dim the backlight. And ignition turns it on or off. Maybe I misunderstand expected behavior though.

Pink from driver side is the correct color for parking light signal though. You can confirm with a meter.

I might have explained it poorly, I have the white switchpro wire going into the pink headlight wire

    Night Time
    Headlights On - Backlight On
Parking Lights On - Backlight On
    Auto - Backlight On
    Off - Backlight Off

    Day Time
    Headlights On - Backlight Off
Parking Lights On - Backlight Off
    Auto - Backlight On
    Off - Backlight On

Yes I assumed pink headlight to white Switch-Pros. What about your blue Switch-Pros wire? INJ?

Sounds right wire wise to me.

Ok, I have my wires going into my engine fuse box. White to (h-lp rh-ld) very lowest fuse for headlights on. Tap a fuse, then my power is to the (inj) and pink goes to my (BKUP no2) for my trigger for reverse. My switchpro comes on when my truck comes on, and lights up like normal then when my headlights come on they dim down.

Maybe that's what's going on during the day. It's just dimmed when the headlights are on, and because of the sun I can't see the backlight at all. Then when it's full brightness it's just bright enough to see during the day time.

I think you can adjust the brightness, it’s been minute since I went through the settings.

I played around with it more yesterday afternoon and that is for sure what's going on. For some reason I was just expecting it to not have a backlight on during the day. I'm happy as long as I know it's working as intended. Thank you all for the help!

Does someone know which screws are for the positive and which ones are for the negatives?

I don't know for sure but based on the layout I would guess the 6 screws by the fuses are positive and the six on the other side are negative.
