I'm pretty sure these are made by MESO unless something changed recently.

I did see there are 2 different version for the model year.

I have one that is made by MESO, but I do want to upgrade to the one with the extra slot next to the Switch Pro location.

Doing my SwitchPro install this week finally, but a question for those that have their Switch Pro's controlling backlighting. I have 3 sets of lights that have backlighting options, none are wired up yet.

    Light Bar (BD S8)
    Fogs (DD SS3 Max)
    Ditch Lights (DD SS3 Max)

My first thought was to wire all the backlighting together as it's a super low amp draw, and then just wire to one switch of the switch pro. Have it trigger on Ign and turn off when low beams or high beams are activated.

I am curious about this idea as well. I have one set of lights that has the backlighting, but I have it on a dedicated single wiring harness to a 3 position switch which gives me full control of the main light and backlight.

Would that mean, for the backlighting it would use one of the button on the Switch Pro panel and for the main light it would use another button?

Yeah. Basically one button controls all the backlights. Then theres a button for each individual light

The other thing people do is wire the light and backlight together so they are controlled together.

    Just depends what you want.

If the main light and backlight are wired together and are assigned to one button on Switch Pro, how do you set the main light and backlight function apart from each other?

You don’t on the 9100 lol

on the 12 panel switch pro you can have one button control multiple outputs. So like one press would be backlight and second press would be the light.

If only the 12 button switch-pro were a bit easier to fit in places. It's so big.

Now...that would be dope. Damn!...they should program the 9100 to function like the 12 panel Switch Pro.

Yes, as others above have said. This is what I do for the backlights on my S8 30". The switchpro button memory is on, with ignition rather than always on power. I use the backlights like pseudo-running lights, but with the option to turn them off via switchpro switch. The main lights are on a separate switch. I don't have the backlights on other LEDs wired (intentionally), but could repeat this process for them separately, or combine all the backlights into one switch. The current draw for these backlights is so minimal, you could use one of the low amp switches for everything.

Downside is that it takes up 2 of the 8 switch spots for one backlight/main combo. I don't have that much stuff wired up so not an issue (yet?).

One day I might do what this guy did for his raptor lights and make it an automatic low beam +/- DRL triggered switch. I would just make it relayed and fused in addition to how he describes it.

I understand your method and it's cool. I prefer to use one button per accessory. We are alike, I have some things wired up and still have room to wire some more accessories.

I truly wish the 9100 had 4-5 trigger inputs. I'd want high beam, fog light, drl + park combo, dome and reverse. Cargo wouldn't be terrible as well. I have some small hope of an upgraded version in the future with the same form factor.

Think anyone would be interested in us making a custom 12 button switch pro left panel? I’ve drafted up one but it requires pulling the lower row that’s recessed forward.
