I was thinking overhead. And, if you'd even consider something for first gen Tundra, I would quickly soil myself with excitement, but I know that's out of the question.

That 3rd gen overhead panel is just ripe for a complete replacement. It's 4 push in tabs and an outer bezel and a 20 pin connector plus some innards. The parts transfer shouldn't be too hard. The map lights can be done in all sorts of ways. Nobody wants a sunglass holder. The crawl control thingy I assume is possible to stuff somewhere. Everything other than that dome rocker switch can be a modular part, one for SOS, one for sunroof controls, small switch panels, 9100 panel, big boy switchpros panel, spod panel, etc.

Driver cubby is pretty crowded and lots of players in the space but overhead is fresh ground waiting for the dozer. Or as the chairman of the board said in today's speech while lying to us about the reasons why the CEO got the boot, "we're selling shovels in the middle of a gold rush."

Even making the same thing and just stealing the sunglass holder for something real, that has winner written on it to me.

The driver cubby I already smash with my knee getting in and out. The last thing I'd want is more bulk there. I might have to move my redarc if I ever get around to doing the LSP.

I was just thinking I should expand the footprint of the overhead if can pull it off. I have a couple overhead panels I’ve been playing with, but not the time to finish my thoughts yet into a proto part.

Finished my install, mostly. Tried to loom everything and use waterproof shrink wrap where I could.

Used the Switchpro mount/kit from @AY_ARONTRD and tapped the fuse box per @Shellshock instructions.

Battery is a Duracell AGM, SDHQ terminals, and the TRD mount is from someone on here.

2nd pic of of my BD S8 lightbar harness to motivate some of you to make your wiring cleaner

WOW! Nice job on that! I’m (im)patiently waiting for my 9100 to be delivered so I can install that and then spend a weekend installing the new stereo, BD fog lights, BD XL Linkable lights, cameras, heated seats etc. Want to do it once and only once!

Can someone tell me the dimensions of the switch panel? I can't afford a Switchpro so I was going to go with Auxbeam instead but I want to use the Meso Custom sunglass holder mod. Just wanna know what I'll have to tweak to get it to accept the Aux Beam. Thanks!

Pretty sure meso can custom make one for you with an aux beam cutout.

    Etsy has a bunch too.

MESO is actually working on a switch panel that will accommodate both.

I looked into this as a switchpro is too much for me to justify. From what I remember a switchpro is 4" x 3" and the auxbeam is 4.5" x 3.5". Those might not be exact but I remember for sure the auxbeam is slightly bigger than the switchpro in both width and length. I wanted to go with meso, but it seems impossible to find anything I'm looking for in stock lol. I ordered a custom left side panel on etsy that fits the auxbeam and 5 switches for $50 and it should be here today. I'm sure the quality will be nothing like MESO, but i plan on wrapping it so it will be fine for me

Gah, I guess I should have clarified. It's for a second gen. I messaged him about it and said it was in the works but didn't say about anything for the second gen.

That's good that it's bigger! Means the panel could be easily modified. Easier to make plastic bigger then it is to make it smaller! Do you have a link to the etsy shop? Do they do 2nd gen stuff too?

Ah damn, didn't realize you were 2nd gen, the switch panel I found on etsy is for 3rd gen and just looked and don't see any for 2nd gen

Hi Guys, Runnin4Tacos seems to have commissioned MESO to make a version of our modular switch panels for 3rd gens. If you don’t want to wait or have custom needs check out all the many other versions we have in stock today that can ship as soon as Monday. Ours all fit the Auxbeam standard 8 gang controller and then can use inserts to run a switch pro or other switch combinations. Check us out at Guildoutfitters.com we started our business to try and improve the out-of-stock and lead time so many aftermarket products have. If you have any questions on our panels reach out here or in chat on our website. Thanks, Shaun

Tuan (R4T) is a dealer and good buddy of mine. We have worked on many projects together, this included. Expanding on the already popular (and original) MESO Tacoma panel..this will take it a step further. Featuring injection molded quality(OEM), 5 regular switches + OEM cab light rocker + SP9100 or Auxbeam. To my knowledge this many switch holes does not exist on the market. Having them molded will keep up with demand all while keeping the price point about half of any other offerings. I came up with the insert idea a while ago, long before I saw this thread with yours. I guess great minds think a like and Imitation is the greatest form of flattery ;)

Where there is demand that exceeds supply, there will always be people inspired to help meet it.

imitation is most definitely a form of flattery. There’s been a retaining oem cover for Tacoma and 4Runner on Etsy for awhile. We all just seek to keep improving and serving the market. We have no disrespect for anyone Stew.

I have a switchpro install that I've been trying to get done before a long cross country road trip I have this month.

I've been scrambling for the past three months to get parts together to do it once and correctly. PowerTrays and Switchpros on back order. SDHQ battery terminals four to six week lead. I must have went through 100 different temporary mounting options to hold me off until custom orders open up again with Meso. Even the Cali Raised Meso panels are sold out which in all honesty I didn't want anyway becuase of the massive logo print. Just my preference. I would have used it if able though.

It was nice to find a place holder of equal quality with Guild Outfitters. It was here in a few days as well. Yeah I'll switch to the Meso panel when I can, but boy do I appreciate having an alternative when I need it come install time. It's great to not have to go back and redo some half assed temporary mount.

I think competition in this environment only creates product availability and quality improvements. Maybe a little healthy competition? Either way It makes shit easier on the consumer and hey, that's me so I'm all for it! Keep up the good work everyone!

I hear you on supply and demand. If someone wants something they are going to purchase whatever part is available and in stock. However, the old saying might be true: good things are worth the wait:)
On the fuse cover. It doesn’t bother me, many people have copied my parts. That’s just the way it is. But all that I want is for them to be innovative. Make it BETTER, not just a blatant copy. This is good for the consumer and healthy competition. I keep in contact with the Etsy seller (@4runner.tx on IG) He had a great idea about utilizing the OEM fuse Cover. But again, improve and innovate. Case in point; spare interior fuses and puller which haven’t been done to my knowledge.

We can go all day about how design X is similar to design Y, etc etc. At the end of the day sometimes there’s only be 1 way to skin a cat. The only difference is the knife we use :D

Back to the panel thread. There are a ton of options out there from DIY 3d printing(files are floating around) to have a 3rd party print it for you(shapeways, xometry, etc) and turn key ones like guild or mine. As long as it fits the customers expectations and they are happy.

    Hi.
For those interested in the DD lights with backlighting...
I installed the "Diode Dynamics Stage Series Reverse Light Kit (2016-2022) SSC1 / SPORT" on my 3rd gen...had just installed the Switch Pros 9100 and didn't want to use 2 switches for one set of lights...I settled for 1 switch and 1 trigger...I am really happy with the outcome...here is how I did it...
I brought the harness into my basement and tested the lights. I was confused at first by the relay...could not figure out how the relay was working the 2 different lights (red backlight and white reverse light). Part of the harness was hidden by loom and shrink tape. I emailed the company and they said they would pass it on to the engineers...but...I couldn't wait...lol...so I kept testing. I saw on my meter that the red backlight was such a low draw...and that's when I realized that they were run directly off the factory lights.
So, I cut the switch and relay off the Diode Dynamics harness, used their trigger wire that originally went to their relay as a trigger for the Switch Pro.
    So now :
-when I start the Truck and turn the lights on, the red backlights are lit up
-when I put it in reverse the Diode Dynamics white lights LIGHT UP the night behind me (due to trigger wire from DD harness wired into the Switch Pros
-when I pres the Switch Pros switch, the Diode Dynamics white lights LIGHT UP the night behind me.

I did use up 1 Switch Pros trigger for this install. But it was worth it.

Anyone have a good picture of how they ran their ditch light wiring on their 3rd gens?

Looking to hide it or make it look as clean as possible while running to my SwitchPros

Mine is stuffed under the plastic on the drivers side. Passenger side comes out and runs along the main harness along the firewall across the engine bay
