Is there any concern about the wires being exposed on the terminal block?

Well the terminal block has raised the dividers, which actually make it very difficult for anything to touch the exposed metal. Also remember that the wires/terminals are only hot when a switch is activated, So most of the time there is no risk at all. However, the biggest safeguard lies within the Switch Pros itself. Because it is internally protected, if anything were to make contact with an activated terminal and a ground, the Switch Pros would immediately cut power to the compromised switch. which is pure awesomeness! So for these reasons I have no concern and feel completely comfortable running it without a cover.

You can always apply dielectric grease to the terminal ends to make them more water resistant. Works for me and in 3-4 months of use, no issues with an open terminal block

Not sure if this is the official switch pro thread, but one is on my plans. And I was wondering about a pretty unlikely thing, anyone know if this can be controlled via Tasker in android?

Is there not an official switch pros app in the google store yet?

I searched, but not very thorough, for one and couldn't find one.

Tasker is another app will interact with the switchpro app and be able to do things with sp app. Things like turn lights on via speaking into a smart watch, or an nfc chip placed in the garage door, or build a widget for the home screen (if the official app doesn't have one) or a million other possibilities.

It's probably an unlikely long shot, but I thought I'd check around.

Just checked the site and they do show that they have an app in the google store. Not familiar with the third party app you mentioned but it sounds interesting and I'm certain that the android folks would be keen to hear about any progress you make with it. If in doubt give them a call, I've spoken to Laura a few times and she has always been absolutely pleasant and keen to help.

I did the same as you guys suggested, however my Switch Pro LED will not turn off. All 8 LED switches are remain on even I lock the vehicle. Is that something wrong? Which EFI fuse should use? Can you be a bit specific? thanks.

Alright I apologize for reviving an older thread. But can someone please explain to me what the heck is going on and how these fuse panels work? I just bought my Switch Pros and instead of wiring everything directly to it I like how clean it is with everyone using these fuse panels. So my understanding is when hard wired to the Switch Pros you connect say your LED bar red wire to the red wire on the Switch Pro switch number. All these pictures I see of the fuse panels, it looks as if the Switch Pros are connected to the fuse panel but I don't see how the accessories (light bars, pods etc.) connect to the fuse panel.

I am thinking about buying a Blue Sea fuse panel, if anyone has experience.

I feel dumb for asking but I have looked all over the 4runner forums with no luck and just want to do the install right the first time around.

    Thanks

I just finished my install earlier and would definitely recommend a Blue Sea panel and bus bars. By doing it how it’s done in that pic you quoted you just hook the positive from your accessory to the other side of the corresponding bus/switch #, ground the ground, and you’re good to go. This way you don’t have butt crimps floating around everywhere, it’s much cleaner and easier to add new stuff!

The blue sea panel is nice because you can run stuff you want always on to it and keep your fuses central. I use mine for front cam power, bed lights, and small bed-mounted water pump.
    Here’s my install:

So the bar closest to the SP is all positive, lower is all grounds, Blue Sea 6 fuse panel has space for 6 always On/powered circuits

He used Plastidip. It turned out really nice, should hold up well in the engine compartment.

Thanks man, you have a super clean install! Well done... So I have one more question just so I understand correctly. My current understanding with your set up is you have an accessory (bed lights) that go directly to the Blue Sea Fuse panel, from the fuse panel you then wire to the positive / negative on the busbar then the positive from the busbar to the actual Switch pros?

    accessory>fuse panel>busbar>switch pros

Correct me if am wrong, which I more than likely am... Could I theoretically have a fuse panel and have my accessory go to the fuse panel, then from the fuse panel directly to switch pros?

    Thanks again!
