Are you using the relay that comes with your lightbar or are you just connecting straight to the Switch Pros? Just wondering for when I get my Switch Pros in. Kinda sucks that I'll have to connect to the battery and then to the Switch Pros if I have to use the relay. Thanks in advance!

I just hooked everything up to the Switchpro. no relays on anything. The Switchpro being a Solid State makes them unnecessary. I havent had any problems with my accessories.

but.. now I'm second guessing myself and wondering if I need to do something about my lightbar. I havent noticed anything wrong. would I notice a bump in light output if it is in fact being limited by the amperage? say i disconnect it, go straight to the battery and see if it gets brighter...

you can try that. the relay could be rated for more amps and just derated for selling. does it get warm? the other thing is see how many actual amps are being pulled from the light bar. most china ones dont pull as much as they say lol

I think the first part is accurate. no issues, no overheating, they have all been ran at the same time, for long periods of time, camping , etc.

The second part might be part of it too. although, I have torn into this bar, checked internals, etc when I got it.. and I believe the 240W claim. its a great bar, not your normal "china bar", and had it custom made. I may test it now just out of curiosity though.

Yeah you could try it. It may or may not make a difference. My 30" lightbar says it only draws 8.5 amps.

kinda, its just replacing them with solid state relays. the lack of fuse i am not sure, so maybe an internal fuse breaker setup. its as super cool setup. I would like to see it for cheaper and less features (no BT) but for the price, its a slick little unit.

    Check out the build
Reading through the instructions they mention the use of an external relay if the draw is greater than the output of the SP.

What it doesn't explain is the circuit protection on each output. So let's say on an 18A output you use something that draws 5A max, does the unit provide protection for 5A or just anything over 18A? If the latter is true, then you still need a fuse after the SP. So then you need a fuse panel after the SP and if you need relays too, it adds up.

I'm looking into all this because I'm installing one in my camper.

Working on getting this installed but have some electrical questions. Is the blue seas 2610 65 amp terminal a good choice, or can I get away with the 30 amp. Amazon has a jumper listed as frequently bought together, is that needed? Is a common busbar the type use for the negatives. I am pretty clueless when it comes electrical, any help is appreciated!

it will all depend on what you are going to power off of it. if less then 30amps, then sure, if more, then NOPE

Is the 30/65 per connection on the terminal or a combined max?

Seen this on IG last week. They'll make it in blue, but not in cool/pure white, c'mon man!! I've asked them why not, their only excuse is that their not currently working on white background. Which is probably BS imho. For that price at least give us options on colors. If there's a way to take apart that switch panel and change those led's out I would, but it looks like the panel is sealed.

Funny thing is this ain't even available on their main website, they have certain dealers that only carries them.

Just got the new blue switch panel installed. The TRD sport has a perfect place for it as you can see. No cutting necessary.

Go with the 30, it's comparable in size to the switch pro and 30 is the max it can put out anyway… also you're still able to run higher amp accessories off of it with the use of a relay.
