I'm also going to be adding reverse back up lights on a separate switch what are people using to illuminate a second switch?

@madcity27 @Taco_Tues_3rdGEN, can I add 2 light switches to the tail light fuse and add a fuse connector? I was planning on tying the two wires together and then put them both in the add a fuse wiring. Hope that make senses.

If you're just using the add-a-fuse to provide switch illumination, I see no problem with adding more than one. You just need to have the right size fuse to handle both.

Just installed some @CaliRaisedLed ditch lights and wired it up to one of their switches. Like in their instructional video, I did not use an add-a-circuit simply because I dont have one right now. They said in their video that they just put the second red wire with the one closest to the green. I didn't fully understand this. Did they actually connect the two reds from the switch to the same wire or did they leave the second red switch wire not attatched to anything, just taped to the first red wire for organization? Right now I dont have the second red wire attached to anything and the lights and switch work perfectly... The lights turn on and off with the switch whether the engine is running or not, and the switch's light only comes on when you push it on. Do I need to put the second red wire to an add-a-circuit or can I just leave it as is? Thanks!

Installed a Caliraisedled bumper light bar and I want to add a fuse to take switched power, but I can't figure out which fuse in my 3rd gen fuse box to pull from. My recent build '17 TRD OR DCSB fuse box looks different from those I've seen posted as illustrations. Where should I put the tap?

Just wanted to add this helped me alot.

My harness relay harness consisted of Black, Blue, and Red. I substituted Blue for White in your instructions and the switch is working as intended

Took me a bit of extra time since my relay came incorrectly wired from Cali Raised.

My Cali bar harness is different than all those mentioned thus far.
    2017-08-06 - 13:01:05.872.jpg

My harness has the following colors:
    - Green with black stripe
    - Red with yellow stripe
    - Yellow with blue stripe

I've emailed and messaged Cali a few days ago, but haven't received a reply yet. I don't want to cut away the shrink wrap on the relay wiring to see what wires are to what pins.

A shame Cali hasn't resolved these wiring document issues. Otherwise their customer service has been great.

The Cali Raised harnesses are whatever they can get from China for cheap, so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't know. One wire will be power in, one goes to the relay, and the other is ground. If you have a multimeter, you should be able to figure it out fairly easily. One should go straight to the positive battery connection. One will go straight to the ground connection. The other will go to either pin 85 or 86 on the relay connector. The other of those two relay pins will be connected to the ground connection.

Also, check the fuse that came in the fuse holder. It is probably WAAAAAY to big. My side projecting ditch lights came with a 30 amp fuse. Each light only draws 27 Watts, so the pair, worse case, draws 4.5 amps. I swapped it out for a 5 amp fuse.

So this is what was conveyed to me from Blake at CaliRaised for my harness' differing wire colors. A shame they don't have this information documented thoroughly and freely available for their customers. I've wasted a good bit of time over this.

I have the same question. Did you ever get an answer? I found the 7.5 amp fuse in the little fuse panel under the dash, inside the cab but It is too small to accept a fuse tap (without leaving the cover off) -
    I was thinking either the 10A BackupIMG_3251 2.jpg
    or the 20A DimmerIMG_3254.jpg

I was looking into that also. Thing is if u tap in the box under the hood
how do you get your wire in there into the tap? You going to drill a hole through the box?

Yes, that was my plan. Then seal the hole with some silicone. I'd just feed the wire thru the fire wall with the caliraised harness.
